I love Barbur Vista for the care of my aging mother with dementia. The staff is kind, caring, and professional. My mother’s room is beautiful, peaceful, and quiet. The facility is clean. The food is prepared fresh by personable, interested, and talented chefs. There are varied, engaging, activities for the residents to participate in.. Overall, there is a sense of unity, community, and family within the facility. It is a smaller, less structured, residential facility in comparison with many. It is just this sense of intimacy and comfort that our family sought and found for my mother at Barbur Vista.

They will leave your loved ones in pee. They refuse to follow doctors orders. They will lie to you about your families care plan and refuse to help when needed. Long wait times for care. Refuses to follow diabetic diet. Poorly trained staff.

When Helen needed additional personal care, we knew just what to do -- find Askol! (Helen had been with Askol at a previous Assisted Living place.)<br>Helen has a private room with a bath and huge closet at Barbur Vista. She was able to bring her personal furniture including tons of artwork and her Hummel collection.<br>My friend happens to be on Hospice, and Askol's staff work seamlessly with the visiting nurse and social workers. Her dietary restrictions are met with ease; additional treats are stored in common refrigerators and freezer.<br>The staff appears to enjoy Helen and always meet her visitors with warm, genuine smiles.<br>Helen is in a good place.<br>Jean Schaber, 2024
