On behalf of our family, we would like to recognize several staff members that deserve recognition for their outstanding assistance in many different areas. Firstly, Helga, Patient Care ( may be incorrect on full title) has been an angle from heaven. Her patience in listening and genuinely caring for our family members needs has and is the answer to him adjusting and making so much recent improvement. She is so kind and loving and will stay late to make sure all concerns are met. Helga is a beautiful soul and Aviata is blessed to have her. I understand JoJo has also been very instrumental in recognizing where changes were needed and she promptly authorized changes be made that Helga brought to her attention. Again, we are grateful. Let us also recognize Robert, Physical Therapy. He is extremely knowledgeable in what our family member needs to help rehabilitate him. Robert genuinely cares for his patients progress and on last visit , we’re seeing a lot of progress. For this we are extremely grateful also. Today on my visit, I met. Sherry, CNA, whom I have heard so much about. She is kind and caring and stays on task. Again I understand she actually stayed past her shift to assist with a shower for our family member. Again, forever grateful. Overall, the facility is very nice. I haven’t personally witnessed any sanitation issues. And he actually likes the food. So compliments to the chef and staff. Overall, our family feels very pleased but the above mentioned are some of your star staff members and deserve recognition. Thank you! I can only add to existing post and my family wanted to also recognize Andrew,RN, who is always pleasant and understanding to our family members needs. He treats him with respect and takes time to answer and explain any issues regarding his medications. Always upbeat and a true treasure you have in him. Thank you Andrew❤️🙏
My father was admitted to Aviata Nursing Home and Rehabilitation on Tuesday, April 7. During his time there, he was repeatedly neglected. He was left sitting in his own feces for extended periods, and his calls for basic needs—such as water and assistance with toileting—were routinely ignored.
While in the facility, it was evident that this was not an isolated issue. Patients could be heard calling out for help, often without response, while staff appeared overwhelmed or unwilling to assist. The overall environment did not reflect a place focused on healing or patient care.
My father’s condition significantly deteriorated during his stay. Despite having complex medical needs, proper precautions were not taken. His catheter was removed, and staff were unable to successfully reinsert it. As a result, he went over 24 hours without producing urine, which led to severe medical complications, including sepsis, dangerously low blood pressure, and metabolic acidosis.
He has since developed severe wounds on his backside, which now require ongoing hospital treatment, including wound packing and cleaning. Due to these complications, he is now also requiring dialysis. He is currently admitted to Orlando Health Lake Mary Hospital in the Intensive Care Unit, where he is receiving critical treatment.
As a mandated reporter who works daily with a highly vulnerable population of students with disabilities, I am deeply disturbed by what I witnessed. I am trained to recognize neglect and ensure the safety and dignity of those in my care. What occurred in this facility is, in my professional opinion, a clear failure to provide even the most basic standard of care. It is both alarming and unacceptable.
This outcome reflects serious concerns regarding negligence and inadequate care. No patient should experience this level of suffering in a facility responsible for their well-being.
If you have a loved one, please, do not bring them to this facility. My father was brought there after a fall, to have rehab. He had 30 min of "rehab" a day, supposedly, and spent the rest of the time in a wheelchair chair or in his bed. He was considered a fall risk, so they stuck him in a wheelchair and left him there. His arms were so bruised. There is no question they had to of manhandled him roughly for the kind of bruises he had. After a week at home with me, he was bruise free. I am absolutely disgusted at the care he didn't receive. They claimed they were short staffed to excuse their negligence. My father was dehydrated, had extremely swollen ankles and left in a wheelchair. They did nothing for him, even after I brought this to their attention. The food they served is unedible. I was bringing food for him, and spending hours there to make sure that he was safe. The pictures do not do it justice. Unfortunately, I didn't get him out of there fast enough. His body couldn't recover from the negligence he suffered there and passed away 2 weeks after he came home. I am heartbroken that I allowed this place to care for my most precious father. My father was 92 with late stage Alzheimer’s and needed special care, that this place could not provide. Though his days were numbered, they didn't have to be like this. This is not how you treat people. I was warned about this place but due to limited options, I allowed them to care for my father. Please don't make the same mistake I did. Its a regret I will have to live with. It is a heavy weight on my heart.
Bianca CNA 11-7 is a very caring person, treats everyone with dignity, kindness and a touch of humor. She has given me encouragement every night she has been on duty. She's one of earth angels! May God Bless Her. Sherry cna 3/11 creates great environment by tidying the room, freshening the beds and treat us with respect and caring manner. Her touch of humor lifts the spirit, she comfort me one night after pity party it was very much appreciated. She even water my plants and flowers that loving friends sent me. She is one of my earth angels.

Ben nurse 7/7 shift. Ben is the calmest men i ever me, first person i had contact with at Aviata, gentle, told me what the purpose of everything. He has taken not only the nurses role but the cna role when staff short hand. He came in and helped my roommate after problem, cleaned her up and dressed her in fresh gown and restored her dignity well being. My earth angel.
Markel CNA 7/3 shift, he is combination of humor and caring, kind person,and he treats you how he would want to be treated. Real good guy.
Barbara is a force. And she is now my cousin Barbara number two, with great smile.
Therapy department was terrific, very devoted. Housekeeping department is fantastic, Rose and Mattie great help. Activities department very sweet and fun. Director of patient experience Helga comes in with fresh face, makes residents comfortable. Sweet personality, caring heart. Adore her.

Therapy was great and consistent, people who work in therapy are kind and helpful. I’m stronger and walking better than in the past. Employees are loving and helpful and I got great care. Lior, Erica the CNA was very helpful and stood out. Helped me get stronger. Even the food is delicious. If you trying to choose the place this is it. Helga was very supportive throughout my staying. I noticed big positive changes.
