I’m writing this review to share our recent experience at The Avenue in North Ridgeville where my 93-year-old mother recovered for 8 weeks after surgery following a fall. She was here before two years ago and we were happy, but we are impressed by how many things have improved since then. The physical therapy team deserves a huge shout-out. They were the bright spot in her last visit and that excellence continued. They worked patiently with our mom by helping her regain mobility and confidence step by step because she could hardly walk when she got there. Their ability and encouragement made all the difference in her recovery. Compared to her earlier visit we noticed significant changes in the nursing staff and administration. Everyone seemed more engaged and attentive, and the nursing staff was more stable and not as overwhelmed. One of the highlights this time was the activities and themed social events. My mom enjoyed the daily 5-6 daily activities which kept her spirits up and helped her connect with others. They put a lot of effort and creativity into this area. The only issue we had initially was to clarify people’s roles and how the teams work with each other, like between physical therapy and nursing. A few other points. The have an onsite social worker to coordinate insurance, the food was particularly good, the facility is relatively new and well maintained, they have enclosed courtyards, they have a bus for transportation to doctors visit and they accommodate family visits quite well. Overall, we were very satisfied with the care and support provided during our mom’s recovery and would highly recommend The Avenue.

We had such a wonderful experience at The Avenue!

My dad is doing great there — he’s been walking a lot, regaining his strength, and will likely only need to stay a short time because he’s become so independent again. That alone says so much about the quality of care.

The facility itself is beautiful and honestly feels more like a hotel. The dining room attendants are incredibly sweet, polite, and attentive. The nurses have been wonderful — especially in caring for the skin on his arm that was injured during his hospital stay. We truly appreciate the attention and compassion they’ve shown.

And I have to mention the food — my dad absolutely LOVES it! He talks about every meal. Biscuits and gravy, pork, mashed potatoes… he’s a very happy man! 😊

Thank you to everyone at The Avenue for providing such excellent care. If our family ever needs support again, we will absolutely be back. Highly recommend! ❤️
