Ryesa, Wallee, and Tishara were detail oriented and grounded! The receptionist and other staff were very kind! I told them I was concerned for my Godfather’s left arm swelling as he just transferred from the Bay Punes VA, and they all took my concerns seriously and said they will advise the on call doctor. Love that fast response! Thanks for a good first day guys!!!!

I made a surprise visit and my elderly mother was being very well cared for. The nurses were attentive, her room was clean and she was dressed appropriately for the day. Thank you Aventura for caring.

This facility is being run in a way that is not just disappointing , it is dangerous. My mother has been there for approximately a month. She has progressive MS and was discharged from the hospital with documented swallowing difficulties and severe limitations in hand strength and coordination. She cannot lift her hands properly or grip utensils, and she requires assistance with all activities of daily living. This is clearly documented in her medical record. Despite this, meals are delivered cold and she is given no assistance to eat. For someone with dysphagia, that is not just neglect it is a choking risk. The facility relies heavily on diapers and enforces what appears to be a rigid “two-hour rule” for changes. No human being should be forced to sit in feces or urine because a clock says it isn’t time yet. When my mother presses her call light, she has waited 45 minutes or longer while soiled. That is inhumane. We were also informed that the call light system only triggers a visual light above the door there are no audible alerts or direct staff notifications. In a facility housing medically fragile patients, that is unacceptable. If someone begins choking, falls, or experiences a medical emergency, it could easily go unnoticed. Sitting in feces and a wet diaper is not simply uncomfortable it is a serious health hazard. For an immunocompromised patient at high risk for UTIs, it can lead to sepsis. My mother reported UTI symptoms 3–4 days ago, and no one has catheterized her to obtain a urine sample for testing. Delaying evaluation and treatment under these circumstances is negligent. This is not solely a criticism of individual nurses or CNAs. No staff member should be forced to run room to room in a chronically understaffed facility where patients’ basic needs cannot be met in a timely manner. Chronic understaffing in a skilled nursing facility is a systemic failure. It compromises dignity, safety, and health. Beyond these major issues, there are also concerns about staff attitudes, cleanliness, and lack of adequate fall-risk accommodations. But those concerns pale in comparison to the pressure sores my mother developed after being consistently left waiting for care. This facility does not appear to operate under safe staffing standards. It creates an environment that is unsafe for patients and overwhelming for staff. If you have other options for your loved one, seriously consider them. What is happening here is not just poor service it is a safety risk.

My aunt became a resident of Aventura today. I had to sign in as a guest. I was very impressed with Advanced Entry. The system made me feel that my aunt was safe within the facility. The took my picture, name and who I was going to see. It reminded me of going through customs at the airport . I was told that once the initial information was entered, I would just have to show my face in the camera for entry at me next visit. It saves time and a sense of security.

This was actually my 2nd visit. My family member was being transferred at the first visit so I didn't get the chance to visit. This visit was really nice. A great check in system, clean facility and pleasant smell. It's was during a thunderstorm and I stayed for hours which my loved one was taken care during the time. Her needs we're meet and I was pleased.
