An elderly relative was a resident here from 2024 into early 2025. Overall, the caregivers were compassionate and caring, and the Manager and Director were very responsive to all my requests. I'm convinced that Avalon Memory Care in Irving TX does the best that they possibly can given their resources and staffing. But my experiences here suggest that more caregivers are needed at this facility to help deal with some of the residents that need more attention or a higher level of care. I think that more caregivers could help reduce the number of falls and injuries that occur here. My relative was not a good fit for this understaffed facility since his dementia was progressing rapidly and he was becoming aggressive. Your loved one with dementia might be a good fit here if they do not yet have aggressive tendencies and simply need a secured environment with 'basic' assistance like getting dressed, eating, and bathing.

I had concerns about how patients are managed at this facility. There appear to be misCommunication between staff and management also seemed lacking.<br><br>What stood out most was that these concerns did not appear to be addressed by management, even when they were brought up. This created an environment where patient care and safety felt at risk.<br><br>I hope improvements are made, but I would encourage families to stay involved and ask questions about the level of care their loved ones are receiving not once at day but every day. For the ones family don't come visit lack the most care. If you can understand a patient how can you take care of them or if a patient can't understand you to even tell you their needs,how are their needs being taken care of. Irving

0 stars .. came to visit a aunt & she had the same dirty clothes on from Tuesday … look like hasn’t showered ! Nobody spoke English , only 1 lady was helping (the sister ) ! They didn’t let us in the room after she showered ! 1 star only for the lady helping

Avalon memory care in Irving took amazing care of my grandmother. She was in bad shape before we moved her there. They were very attentive to all the residents and kept a close eye on them. My grandmother was always clean, fed and taken care of. They take the residents outside to get fresh air and also have entertainment. The place is really secure as well. I wish I would have moved my grandmother in sooner! When it was time for hospice, they worked well with the hospice care. Communication was great. Facility was always clean. Thank you so much for taking care of my grandmother while she was there!

My brother became a resident of Avalon Memory Care on March 15, 2024. He has received excellent 24/7 care. I have witnessed the staff treating him and other residents with a great deal of respect. Whenever I communicated a need for him, it was quickly met. He was quickly referred for Hospice Care and was able to receive the medical care that he needed. Sadly, my brother passed away on August 12. He died in the early morning hours and while I was not there, a staff member sat with him until he passed into his Savior’s arms. I gladly recommend Avalon care to anyone who needs a place for his/her loved one with dementia.
