My mom is in memory care at Arbor Oaks and feel she is in the finest of memory care homes. We couldn’t ask for a more homey atmosphere and the staff truly loves the residents. My mom is always telling me that they love her and make her feel special. I the families are also felt special. And they always have such fun activities going on. It’s a very difficult phase in life but Arbor Oaks makes it as easy as possible right from the start. I was terrified to go through the process but Melissa made it seamless. Such a relief to know my mom would be safe and loved.

The Springs at Beaverton is an exceptional assisted living facility. After living here for over 3 years, my Mom thoroughly enjoyed so many aspects of her living at The Springs, especially all of the fun social activities and the friendships she developed with residences and staff. The Executive Director and his staff are very caring and they had excellent, open communications with me and my Mom. The care team gave a huge effort toward assisting my Mom. We highly recommend this facility.

The facility was clean and professional, while also comfortable and welcoming. The staff really seem to care about their guests and seem to put them first. I’d highly recommend this place on customer service alone. The staff are willing to answer any and all questions you may have, and truly strive to provide excellent service and care.

My wife has severe Alzheimer's Disease (cognitively "Severe", but she is joyful and social). I finally realized I couldn't keep her safe and healthy at home and checked her in at the very nearby Arbor Oaks Terrace facility Sept. 17, 2025. Starting Nov 4, I began to be hit with discoveries at Arbor Oaks that dismayed and infuriated me. They are unable to manage, and failures in care go undiscovered, unaddressed, and then result in no consequences when reported and verified. The first hit was discovering that my wife's bed was stripped for a laundry day and left bare for at least two days, She was sleeping on the bare mattress until I discovered it. She was not given her thyroid medicine over half the time. Despite my reporting that she is prediabetic, she was fed what they call a Normal diet, which is high carbohydrate, with sweet desserts and sweet snacks three times a day, plus candy at activities. I reported this to them four times, including on her last day. I gave them detailed instructions on her need for help with oral care, with the dentist's recommended Sonicare toothbrush and prescription toothpaste. After 3 months, it appeared she had almost never brushed or flossed. An emergency visit to the hygienist revealed it was good I came in when I did (full price for that treatment) - heavy tartar , one chunk so large the suctioner couldn't get it - it was about the size of a BB. Every time I confronted Arbor Oaks' management with these failures, verified by counting pills, inspecting unused toothpaste and brush, they could never articulate how they would change things, only that they would give more training. My wife's blood tests showed her thyroid and glucose levels all spiked into the abnormal ranges. My heart aches for the other fine residents, many whose loved ones can't visit every 1-3 days, as I did. What is happening to their care? I'm ranking this facility at 1 star. These kinds of rankings were one part of my technical career and many people misunderstand what they mean. It's called a Riker scale and is an ordinal, that is, they just indicate higher or lower values, with no quantitative value between stars. So the lowest score (1 star) means only that it could not be worse (same as a zero, if it were a quantity, which it is not). It has no intrinsic value, such as scoring 1 on the sports field. I never saw any physical violence done to residents, so it could be worse. But their low level of care and management still falls into the lowest possible range. Earlier this year, they significantly dropped their room rates from a rather high, previous value. I asked them twice where that missing revenue would be coming from to make their budget and got no answer. I believe I now know: new, inexperienced and untrained staff. There are a very few experienced caregivers there, as nearly as I can tell. All the reviews from before summer 2025 refer to this facility when it had a more generous revenue stream. Luckily, I called The Springs at Sherwood the day after two rooms opened up there - a rare occurrence. I would not recommend this facility to anyone and would urge those with loved ones there to begin the difficult task of finding a better facility, wait listing, if necessary.
