About Arbor Lake Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

Arbor Lake Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is a 150-bed facility in Farmerville, Louisiana, providing skilled nursing and long-term care services.

Family experiences at Arbor Lake vary notably by shift and individual staff. Day-shift teams earn consistent praise for attentiveness and kindness, with several families reporting strong bonds with caregivers. Night-shift staffing presents a different picture: families describe aides less engaged and nursing staff less responsive to requests, with one family noting that night nurses "spend more time smoking than nursing." Cleanliness and infection control concerns appear in some accounts, including reports of odor issues on certain units and repeated infections despite vaccination. Room changes and occasional negative interactions with individual aides surface in reviews, though families also note these as exceptions rather than the rule.

The facility holds a 4.2 out of 5 Google rating based on 19 reviews. Families who report positive experiences emphasize the emotional care staff provide; one family wrote, "They have made it the best place for them at this time in their lives." The picture that emerges is of a facility with dedicated day-shift personnel and meaningful relationships, shadowed by inconsistency in night operations and environmental maintenance.

In the beginning, everything was great. The staff took very good care of my MIL. Over the years it has gotten progressively worse. The aids sit in the halls on their phones/tablets. The hall my MIL is on smells like urine. My MIL has gotten COVID twice, even after being administered the booster shot. She has been shuffled roughly 4 times (to my knowledge)to different rooms. Her current room mate is a piece of work too(not in a good way). The office staff(one in particular) is backhandedly rude any time you ask questions or raise concerns of her care, behaving as if it is an inconvenience to talk to you. She’s had multiple strokes, that have left her unable to function normally. She keeps UTI’s because she is diapered and not cleaned and changed regularly. My MIL recently was admitted to the hospital and after a week of admittance she was released. She is currently going through the end of life stages… NOW…of all times, after all these years, and she’s dying… the facility wants a review?!?! YOU'RE DOING GREAT… KEEP UP THE LOUSY WORK!

We have had a positive experience with the care except for a couple of aides reacting negatively to my mother’s requests. That is to be expected so, overall, we are pleased with Arbor Lake!

The night crews, nursing, aides...are not happy people. Asking for help; they make you feel like you're an inconvenience. So from about 10 pm on, you're on your own. The night nurses spend more time smoking than nursing. So anytime they finally make it to your room they stink!! Day staff is Amazing. Literally night and day
