I just had a visit with my dearest friend who now is in the memory care at American House Senior Living. I worried as it was a big adjustment for her, but soon noticed the love and compassion the staff had towards the residents and guests that come in. A very lovely young girl Kiara welcoming us in as she held a fun baking activity. I have come now many times and she always has something new for the residents and she is absolutely wonderful always running around and helping others. Jess the Memory Care Director is also wonderful and kind as she spoke to my friend and encouraged her to get her hair done and made her look wonderful and special!These ladies run that place well. I have peace knowing that she is in good hands with those two ladies. Can't wait to come back!

The Memory Care at the American House Mount Prospect is phenomenal. The employees are all caring individuals that think resident first. The facility is clean the residents look and are well cared for. Starts at the top, Ms Tori. The following are only a few of the wonderful staff that work there:<br>Jessica, David, Bouchra, Ching, Renu, Cheryl, Rochelle. These staff members treat our family members as if they are there own. The disease’s that cause family to be placed in a memory care facility are horrible but the staff here understand that and have treated my family member with respect, care and love.... Thank you all and Im sorry I forgot more names....If your family member needs a MC facility or even Assisted Living this is one you should definately look at

Since American House has taken over this senior living facility, they have implemented some wonderful changes, specifically in the activities the residents are engaged in. Whenever I come to visit all the staff is extremely welcoming and busy helping the residents. I often find my mother doing an activity or a game lead by Kiera or Jessica. It is great to see her so engaged!

Before coming to live at AHMP my mom lived with us for 2 years, which was the hardest thing we were blessed to do and certainly gave us a baseline from which to determine institutional care when we finally came to that decision. I'm not sure what stage of dementia mom has, but her decline while living with us was very slow but real, so when we finally realized we were not enough for her we researched 12 places and chose AHMP. Mom became a resident in the memory care unit in early March 2025 just as the transition to new management was happening. So while I can't opine on what it was like before March 1st all I can say is that we have been very pleased with our mother's care. She continues to be, for now, a little bit higher functioning in that she is able to speak clearly, feed herself, and is not incontinent. That said, she can't remember what she just said 2 minutes earlier but she is very clear in her repetition (smile), continues to have a great sense of humor, and is happy, which I attribute to her good care. So we are pleased that she is eating, being engaged, socializing - she has a friend, which is just lovely and something I did not fully appreciate until I saw how it makes her happy - sleeping well, and is clean. The staff, especially Jessica and Ciara, and all the nurses and aides are very attentive and caring and get involved with the activities, whether recreational, social-emotional or lifestyle, like when mom needs her hair cut (on-site) they will go with her and use it as an opportunity to engage her. The monthly family nights and support groups are great, I appreciate being able to call them to check on mom or ask questions, and I love meeting other residents' family members.<br>As long as my mother continues to smile and is, as my brother says, happy-go-lucky, I have faith in and look forward to the continued attention to improvement and care that all the new staff bring to AHMP.
