My mother lived there 8 years. In the 8 years we were there, there were at least 5 new Executive Directors, two or three changes in conglomerate ownership and a revolving door of staff. There are three or four long-term staff members who show true dedication and care toward the families and residents. Generally speaking, it's a corporate enterprise, and while it tries to provide a "family" atmosphere, just scratch beneath the surface and you will find indifference and apathy. Reframing the business model to offer better pay to the caretakers there, would help in hiring and retaining more experienced and qualified staff. At present, the model seems to be designed to line the pockets of regional and corporate management. Pretty on the surface, not so pretty underneath.

My mother-in-law spent her last year at Tesera/Ambience of Brandon. We moved her into their memory care unit when her dementia and Alzheimer's became too much for us to manage on our own.<br>The staff their always showed her so much compassion and patience. When we visited, she and the other residents looked clean and well cared for. When she recently passed, my husband and I were overwhelmed with the amount of compassion and actual grief the nurses and caretakers showed for our loss.<br>Moving your loved one into a care facility is a very hard decision. But Tesera/Ambience made the process easier. I'm the end, we know we made the right choice for her.
