Alden Valley Ridge Rehabilitation and Health Care Center should honestly be ashamed of themselves. This place is a disgusting excuse for a nursing home and the people running it should be embarrassed to cash a paycheck off the backs of vulnerable elderly people. My 97-year-old grandmother is STILL able to walk on her own, STILL fully aware, and STILL sharp enough to know exactly when people are stealing from her, disrespecting her, and treating her like trash. Instead of protecting her, this facility seems determined to break her spirit because she can't hear but refuses to stay quiet. Money mysteriously disappears from her room. Personal belongings go missing. Clothes get taken and handed to other residents. Even small things like her clock are removed out of pure spite and pettiness. And when she calls them out on it? They try to paint her as “confused” and send her for mental evaluations knowing DAMN WELL she knows exactly what’s going on. That is evil. And let’s talk about the staff. Men hanging around hallways staring into residents’ rooms, making elderly women uncomfortable while they’re dressing or showering? Absolutely sick. The women working there aren’t much better rude, careless, lazy, and completely desensitized to the people they’re supposed to care for. A handful may act decent, but the majority of this place feels cold, nasty, and untrustworthy. I even called the front desk requesting to take her out (for the day) and she responds "oh, are you taking her for good?" ... like, excuse me? This building feels run down in every possible way physically, morally, and professionally. The social workers, doctors, and administrators all seem more interested in collecting checks than protecting residents. Nobody with real compassion would allow conditions like this to continue. Honestly, I don’t blame my grandmother for getting violent when nobody in that building seems willing to protect her. If the staff won’t defend a 97-year-old woman from mistreatment, theft, humiliation, and intimidation, then what exactly are they there for? We even tried to get her moved but the social worker never got back to my family about it but yet, keep her there just to treat her and feed her like a dog. You all know EXACTLY which resident I am referring to! Families: DO NOT let the fancy words on their website fool you. Watch your loved ones closely if they are here. This place does not feel safe, caring, or trustworthy. My grandmother's room smells like urine due to her roommate who can't walk so she has to live and smell that while she is there. I will absolutely be looking into filing complaints further than a google review because nobody deserves to spend the end of their life surrounded by people who treat them this horribly.

My brother has been at Alden Valley Ridge for 13 months. Unfortunately, that entire time he was bedridden. There are literally not enough words I can express about the kindness and caring from Joe the administrator to the wonderful nurses, namely Raj, Gloria and the Hospice team in particular Catherine. My brother passed away recently. We were able to talk by phone because I live far away. He would forget to hang up and I would hear conversations with staff. Unfortunately, you hear such awful stories about workers when they think nobody is looking or listening. I was brought to tears several times hearing these kind caretakers. Nick in particular! Towards the end, my brother had asked Nick if he could stay in the room with him and Nick so kindly said, unfortunately I can’t do that but he did stay quite a while. As he was leaving after asking several times if he could do anything more he said to my brother, “stay strong buddy!” I thank God that we had a place with the caliber of Alden Valley Ridge for my brother to live out the remainder of his life!

Staff are rude and dismissive to family and other providers. The staff transfer you to phone extension that no one answers. When I called back I was put on hold for so long that I had to hang up. I attempting several days in a row to get a hold of anyone.

I would like to commend and thank Kasia, my mother, Zenaida Cruz , for her excellent care (above and beyond) not only for our Mom but equally to all residents per my keen observation and plus our Mom speaks highly of her. Our Mom is really happy if Kasia is around. She is thorough making sure right medications are given, making sure vitals are taken if needed before giving her meds, prompt call to a Dr. when there’s health issues for our Mom. She also makes sure to notify our family of any incidents, new meds or orders given to our Mom. She’s an asset to Alden Valley Ridge. Thankful for this chance to express our opinion!

I have had my wife at Alden Valley Ridge for at least 7 years , She has slowly been going down hill from brain cancer and her first nurse was kasia on the first floor, Kasia was very caring to my wife fore over a year before my wife couldent walk anymore and had to move to the second floor but in that year kasia was always there she's one of those nurse's that when you wounder if it's time for my wifes medication she would always be walking in the door. Kasia is a fast and responsible person she moves like a jet up and down the halls non stop ,don't know where she gets the energy. What ever she makes it's not enough constant double shifts. When you have the best do what ever you have to do to keep it.
