Zero stars if I could. My very impoverished mother was sent a letter stating that she should donate because of their food deliveries? She thought this was a bill! Since when do we hustle the poor for receiving STATE FUNDED service? They also left my MIL without in home care services for MONTHS, by the time we found out the services weren’t being administered she had to be rushed to the emergency room on the literal brink of death. Despicable.

Age Well processes purchases from Council on Ageing clients with Moderate Needs Accounts, to pay for things like health related equipment. I am one of those clients. Weeks before the recent close of the last fiscal year, my case manager submitted an order for a new air conditioner, which I need because I am heat intolerant. Other, less expensive, and less crucial, items were included. The lesser ones arrived. The AC did not, and Age Well did not acknowledge their error until the start of the new fiscal year. I am belatedly getting the AC, but Age Well has effectively reduced the funds in my Moderate Needs Account by $600+/- for this year. Given the recent and on-going cuts to services, that is money I was counting on for travel, especially to my neurologist in Boston, who is the closest doctor to me who specializes in autonomic disorders. IMO, Age Well does not deserve their name. There is one simple change that should have been part of their standard operating procedure from the get-go, that would have prevented this situation; i.e. they should send out email confirmations of orders placed and shipping notices, so case managers and clients can keep on top of their orders. That, to me as one who is retired from a long career in human services, is a very, very, basic measure to take. I can't fathom how it never occurred to them.

A very unique business that is very helpful for unlimited and countless reasons. I was injured and have needed all kinds of medical supplies that would’ve cost me a small fortune, and then I would’ve unstuck with them after I was recovered. You can loan items from here free of chargeand return them when you are done with them. I can’t imagine how many people this place has already helped throughout the years.
