Thank you for the amazing staff that you have assembled at Accordius Health at Hendersonville.. My sister Sherry was admitted on December 6, 2023, from Pardee Hospital. Sherry has been an occupant at the Garden’s of Hendersonville for many years. They could not provide the rehabilitation that your facility does. It has always been our goal to get Sherry back to the place she calls home. Yesterday Sherry was transferred back to the Garden’s and is ecstatic to be home. This transformation of Sherry would not have been possible without your amazing staff. First contact was with Nick Anslow, who could not have been more helpful, guiding us along the way during Sherry’s rehab. Your excellent rehab staff, that motivated Sherry and encouraged her. She now talks about exercising daily. My sister Jennie had the most interaction with Unit Manager Molly Carson and Nicole Gary during Sherry’s stay. Jennie has nothing but accolades for these two professionals. The compassion and professionalism of your staff is to be commended. There are several others, from the front desk to the young lady that brought the water and ice to the room. I apologize for not knowing all their names. Jennie and I are very attuned to service and understanding, as Jennie retired from the 29th Judicial District Attorney’s Office and myself as the Sheriff of Henderson County. We have witnessed all sides of human nature. Your staff has servant’s hearts. Sincerely, Sheriff George H. Erwin Jr. Retired – Henderson County

My stay last year in this facility was as good as can be expected. The cnas are wonderful along with the nurses. The cnas are always working under staffed but they are friendly and do a wonderful job At one point the man in the room beside me was constantly cussing them and throwing things at them. They stayed nice with this man. Needless to say the nursing staff was wonderful. I loved the therapy staff. Thanks to what they started with me I'm able to use a rollator around my house. If I ever see James and Holly again I'll give both of them a big hug. I know I've reached my mobility point as far as walking goes; but that little bit of freedom means a lot when all of a sudden you can't walk. I've read the bad reviews and they don't match the stay I had there. I'm sorry their stay wasn't as pleasant as mine. The only complaint I have with this facility is the dietary department. The person over dietary doesn't know how to handle special diets. One day I ask french fries the nurse that was working that day went and got me some fries.

Do not place your loved ones in this facility. I left Mission, Asheville Specialty Hospital after two months in for a valve replacement pacemaker implant from septic staph infection and was released to this place until I could get well enough to go home. The first night they messed up on my medication and kept blaming it on the pharmacy, whenever the medication finally came the next day noticeably missing was my pain medication which I had been on since the operation. I went into withdrawals and started having chest pain I called an ambulance went back to Mission, Told them that I feared for my life if I went back there and never looked back. That place would have killed me as they almost dropped me the first day. I was in quarantine during the COVID scare and a woman with Alzheimer's came rolling into my room grabbed my hand and kissed my hand, unprofessional, chaotic, horrible place. Negative 5 stars.

My Mom took a fall there today and all they wanted to do is put her back in the bed. Edited on April 12, 2023 I was just on face time with my Mom and one of the nurses came by and was very rude to her. I heard EVERY WORD THAT WAS SAID. I called the administration office and I tole the man what was said. She( my mom) has been accused of saying stuff ever since she arrived at this facility. I am so glad that she's being moved to a facility closet to me so that if stuff gets said, I can deal with it in-person. This place (Accordius) is a BIG FAT JOKE!!

— PLEASE READ ENTIRE POST — ——- Updated 2 weeks after —- ————— Original Post————- they have not offered any response to this post, so I’m going to assume they’re not gonna take it seriously or apologize. There are other ways ( legal ways, county, state and federal laws regulate these places for a reason folks ) of making sure that they understand how much I care about the people who are still inside the little world where hope goes to die. patients are human beings and deserve to be treated as such. It’s shameful. I bet some young reporter would love a good exposé story for the 6 o’clock news, let’s see channel 4, channel 13. What is it channel 9 or seven CBS, I have, well… NO JOKE!!! Get in touch!! I have contemporaneous (yeah, I know I use big words, cool huh? ) notes, ie proof. other medical facilities, know of the issue, but are too caring or legally unable to take it to the next level of responsibility. I don’t know. ———— end of update —————— The administrative staff is overworked but very competent once you understand their system and hierarchy. SOME of the floor staff DESPERATELY need some sensitivity training. More importantly, SOME (20-30% and by no means all) members of staff are just plain mean and dismissive (to the point of gossiping amongst themselves about other patients in common areas without regard of who hears personal information about fellow patients. it reminds me of high school gossip and has no place in a professional medical environment). I would guess that that is against patient confidentiality rules, can you say HIPA? There were multiple times I personally witnessed some of the staff, male and female, verbally abuse patients, myself included (i.e. curse at, including using the F word to establish dominance/intimidate a patient). I will stop there but let’s just say you would have to drag me kicking and screaming before I would go back to this facility with it’s current staff. Just one man’s opinion, take it for what it’s worth. In closing, I understand that they are understaffed and trying to do the best that they can in a difficult time and situation, but that does not excuse the treatment of some patients. unless changes are made by local management or corporate entities, I would advise against putting someone you love in this “nursing home”
