About A Place Called Home

A Place Called Home LLC is a small-home assisted living facility in DeSoto, Texas, licensed by Texas Health and Human Services. The community serves up to six residents and is intentionally designed to provide personalized care in a residential setting rather than a large institutional campus.

The facility offers individualized care plans developed by licensed professionals, tailored to each resident's specific needs and preferences. Services include daily support with activities of daily living, medication management, emergency support, and a professional care team available around the clock. The small-home model allows caregivers to learn each resident's routines, health needs, preferences, mobility requirements, and family communication expectations.

The DeSoto home features comfortable, accessible spaces designed to feel like a residence, with familiar furnishings and a genuine family environment where residents are treated with dignity and respect. Residents receive steady caregivers and individualized daily support in a calm setting that emphasizes personal connection.

The DeSoto facility is currently open, and the operator is expanding the model to additional locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, with a Plano location in pre-registration and a Waxahachie home planned for July 2026. The service area commonly includes families from DeSoto, Duncanville, Lancaster, Cedar Hill, Red Oak, and nearby Dallas County communities.

My brothers and I were so blessed to have found A Daughter's Care. I can't say enough good about Juah... She's clearly an angel in disguise. And her entire staff is not only attentive to their resident's needs but do so in the most loving of ways. From the time we moved my parents in there all the way up to their passing, they always said they were treated with respect and the utmost care. I only hope that when I need to be cared for, I pray they are still around and have an opening.

Juah is GREAT, she treats everyone with respect and does a great job making everyone feel at home. The food they serve always smells very good and my parents say it tastes very good. When my father got really sick she was right on top of taking great care of him until the very end. We could not have picked or found a better place to have our parents taken care of.

A Daughter’s Care Assisted Living is a lovely cozy assisted living home, and meeting the owner Juah Davis was a Godsend!! My mother had always lived in her own home but there came a time when she could no longer live by herself. I was working full-time and had no way to care for her by myself. I did not know what to do and found myself praying and asking God for help in finding just the perfect place for my mother. Being legally deaf, my mother would not have thrived in a huge assisted living with lots of people. She needed a place that felt like her own home where she could still have friends come visit and make new friends and continue to do the activities she enjoyed. Then I met Juah and I knew not only would she make sure my mom got the best care possible, but that we would be lifelong friends. I highly recommend A Daughter’s Care. Juah makes sure her residents are treated with respect, kindness and love. She is very hands-on and takes a personal interest in each of her residents. You could not put your loved one in better hands!

I looked and looked and looked for a place for my mom and it was truly the blessing of a lifetime when I came across A Daughter’s Care. Juah and her staff were over the top wonderful!! They treated my mother like family. I stopped by frequently and it was wonderful to enjoy her and to see her being attended to so well. Juah does this because she loves it, not because she has to... and it shows. I’ve already had occasion to recommend A Daughter’s Care to a friend whose aunt was not being treated well where she was. Fortunately, Juah had an opening and she was able to move in. I didn’t know if my friend and her cousins would ever stop thanking me... they saw the joy come back into their relative’s eyes. Anyone would be fortunate to be at A Daughter’s Care.

A Daughter’s Care was the perfect place for my mom. The caregivers were attentive and provided loving care for my mom. The meals were healthy and tasty. The homey atmosphere and beautiful yard and garden area made the Home a very pleasant place.
