Winslow Gardens Assisted Living

Winslow Gardens is an assisted living community in East Providence, Rhode Island, operated as a local nonprofit organization since 1971. The 10-story apartment community provides housing and services for older adults of modest means, serving the greater East Providence area with a philosophy of compassionate, personalized care.

Each resident occupies a private apartment with either one or two bedrooms, featuring a kitchenette with stove and refrigerator, individual climate controls, private bathroom, security cameras, and cable and phone connections. The community offers laundry services, an onsite beauty salon, weekly ecumenical religious services, and outdoor amenities including a courtyard garden, fish pond, and patio. Meals prepared onsite by the culinary staff are available for an additional fee and can accommodate special dietary requirements.

Winslow Gardens provides personalized care plans developed for each resident based on detailed medical histories, special needs, and individual preferences. Licensed nursing professionals are available at all times, and all care personnel are certified nursing assistants and medication technicians trained in CPR. Residents receive personal, healthcare, and medication assistance as needed, with onsite clinical services such as vision screening and podiatry available. The community also coordinates physical and occupational therapy and nursing services.

The activities department organizes outings to restaurants, shows, and shopping, along with social events and programs designed to encourage community integration and resident engagement. A Resident Council provides input on activities and community planning, and special receptions help new residents become established members of the community.
