This is **not** a rehab. It's a nursing home and hospice. Coordination between shifts was not seen. Equipment is dated, as is the facility, with maintenance issue ( cracked and peeling paint) They also did not seem to be able to keep to their own planned and published menus. And the quality of the food was mixed, from poor to acceptable. Even the nurses noted they were understaffed. Basically, it's Heaven's Waiting Room. Sufficient if you are in danger of imminent death. But that's all I could recommend it for.

My mom was well taken care of for her time there. She has done real well after leaving because of their care and would reccommend them to anybody who needs it. Mom also wanted to mention some of her care team also because she was glad to have them, so thank you tp Tia, Billie, Penni, Claudia, Donika, Jazmin, Arthia, Lexus, Frannie, and the rest of the great staff for making sure my mom got healthy enough and ready enough to come home.

Very poor care. While the staff was kind, there are not enough to take care of the patients and give them the quality of care that should be given. The food is horrible. I had to make sure that my husband had food to eat because the meals were so poor he would not eat them.

Of the three such facilities in this area, Winchester Health and Rehabilitation would be at the top of my list as far as overall quality, which was this was my third stay in the last 3 years, and other local similar facilities. I think that because of their smaller size, they are able to provide better care, even with the shortage in this industry of good staff. I like the way that the rooms are laid off, and even seem slightly larger than other similar facilities. I think staff is it's real strength. The CNAs which are in my opinion the heart and soul of such facilities, we're excellent. Caring and compassionate was the rule. Also the nursing staff, was very professional and friendly. Even the management staff, was very available and accommodating. I was there for physical rehab and found the therapists to be outstanding. I like that they use innovative approaches and new technology in their approach to treatment. The only real downside, was the food. Even though when I first got there, dietary took a comprehensive list of my preferences, likes and dislikes, unfortunately this was not always adhered to. I frequently received food items that were clearly on my list to not get, including the mashed potatoes! I want to say that after talking to the dietary manager, who I found to be very accessible and accommodating, that they are hamstrung by what their corporate overlords allow as far as budget and food deliveries. I think the staff is doing the best I can, given the constraints.

It has been my pleasure to collaborate with Debbie and Sandy. I know Sandy is only traveling, but it feels like she has been there forever. They make a great team. Making sure we get all the referral information needed for a smooth transition home. The place has always been clean when I have been there. I always see smiling faces when I have walked down the hall. I also have got good reports from the referrals we have received. Good Job Winchester, you rock.
