Short staffed. Residents are not allowed to go outside & enjoy the nice weather. We don't have enough staff to take us outside. So we're made to stay indoors. The food is terrible. Over-cooked, inedible small child portions that are on rotation. The same bad food every week. I was told they hire teens who just graduate to work in the kitchen. No trading. No experience .Talking to the Nutritionist did not help. They still cooked the same bad food. Some of the staff need to stop smoking weed before they get here or on their breaks. You can smell it in the halls & on the elevator. I don't care what they do at home but this is my home, albeit temporary, but I still live here. Some residents need attentive care. Not some zombie who doesn't want to work. The walls are being painted & they're painting the dining/activities room. They need better AC in those rooms or have screens put up so the windows can be opened. We need fresh air. Do your homework before you place your loved one here. My son & I had no clue. I trusted the social worker at Mercy Hospital over a year ago. Now I trust no one.

UPDATE: I’ve tried to bring up concerns with your team including your so-called social worker but they ignore my emails and voicemails and when I see them in person they have made excuses and even lied to my face. The culture of avoiding responsibility is a real problem that you could fix if you rotated your management and hired young principled people that haven’t become anti-patient yet. The neglect here is criminal. I grew up in a retirement home owned by my mom so I know how hard full time care is. That’s not why the elderly people at WS are suffering. They are suffering because of a systemic culture of laziness that discourages hard work and encourages blaming the patients. There should be an investigation into this facility immediately.

My mom has been there for 2 years and i cant say enough about how many wonderful things keep changing the fresh paint and modern feel to the newly shined floors. I think ownership has got it right finally . I dont know who the key board warriors are in all the negative reviews. I am there on varying shifts everyday and know first hand there are very few visitors and i recognize a few names who are on moms unit and their words do not match the reality. issues are addressed and corrected i have seen the New DON round and make sure rooms are clean and residents are showered . Maybe if you want to talk bad about how bad it is there then why do continue to have your loved ones live there . We have experienced a few nursing homes in our time placing mom, this place right now with new leadership is better than Elderwood and Mcguire. All nursing homes have the same issues. My last thought is this these people show up everyday and do the job you cant or wont, so think before you type

The staff is friendly, I enjoyed a Wonderful day with my Mom on Mother's Day. The Dinning Rm. was newly remodeled and set everything on a perfect note. We bought in Food, where one of her friends accompanied her for an enjoyable gathering after Church. Thank you for setting the mood.

**UPDATE TO YOUR RESPONSE: Stop with the form letter responses. Your place is a disgusting pit that isn’t fit enough to serve cockroaches. If you took our reviews seriously, you would have done something constructive about it instead of offering me to call. You don’t want me to call, I promise you that. I have already reported you to New York State, and you have a lot of audacity having the pictures you do on your website. Two Words. HELL. HOLE. If you have ever seen the show Golden Girls, and wondered what “Shady Pines Retirement Home” would have looked like, this would be the perfect set for it. My aunt was transferred here from Mercy Hospital (THAT is a separate matter I am dealing with), and I was about 10 minutes ahead of the transport van. I pulled onto the property and there were two buildings. One said “Williamsville Suburban Nursing Home” on one, and the other was a much larger building tucked back. When I parked, I thought “wow good thing she’s going to be in this building and not that bigger one.” Welp. I was wrong. The website shows these beautifully manicured rooms with televisions and modern updated features. THAT IS THE REHAB FACILITY ONLY. The “Long-term” care facility is the big building in the back and looks like the Bates Motel. The halls smelled of urine. There was dust CAKED on blinds all over the place. There are punch holes in the wall with bad spackle jobs over it. When they wheeled my aunt into what would have been her room, it was a double room, and she had no furnishings whatsoever. Oh wait no I’m wrong. YOU GOT YOUR OWN BULLETIN BOARD! Her roommate said she has been waiting 6 months for a phone in her room. I went to confirm with them that my aunt would be getting the incontinence care that she needed, that the hospital specifically noted that she needed, and the one lady said “she can sit on a bed pan all day.” Why don’t YOU go sit on a bed pan all day ma’am? I wanted her out of there and I wanted it now. I WILL say that Amanda, the nurse supervisor was VERY nice and understanding how visibly upset I was at the situation and helped me with getting her signed out AMA. At one point, I was on the phone outside crying that I cannot let her stay at this dump. I paid $400 for the transport vehicle to come and pick her up and I just took her home. I would rather put my own blood, sweat, and tears into her care because I could not, in good conscience, kiss her goodbye, get in the car, and go home, leaving her there. You should all be absolutely ashamed of yourselves for thinking that ANY part of your facility is deemed suitable for care. I will be filing a complaint with New York State, because that place needs to be shut down.
