This is probably hands down the worst rehab facility ever. Do not let your loved one stay here. In front the place is nice but when you get to the rooms it’s a different story. Dirty. The night nurse for rehab is horrid. The food is disgusting. My mother sat in her urine for hours. I found a pill on the dirty floor. It is clear no one likes their job. If you don’t like your job quit or maybe you should not be a nurse. I implore anyone reading this please do not leave your loved one here. The below is dinner. Not even sure what that slop is. 5/18. My mother died on May 18th due to the care at Whitney Rehab. She had a hug bed soar along with her imputation got infected. They were not infected or any where near this stage when she left Yale. Please please do not send anywhere here. Absolutely horrible

Myself and my family are so grateful for the care that our father, grandfather And great grandfather received at the facility. Dad had taken a nasty fall at home and let me add. He has dementia and from the moment he entered the facility he received nothing but wonderful care Above and beyond. We are thankful to so many so many that helped us and we’re kind to us and understood us From the rehab unit to everyone on the second floor when Dad became a resident again, the family wants to extend our gratitude, He is now moved onto hospice and when the facility found out, they were so gracious again thank you all for what you did for us as a family and for my father

Exceptional Care & Thoughtful Staff at Whitney Manor Our family was initially anxious about my dad’s indefinite stay (which ended up being three weeks) at Whitney Manor Rehabilitation Center. Walking in, we weren’t sure what to expect—the facility itself is a bit dated—but from the very first day, the staff put our concerns to rest with their professionalism, kindness, and attentiveness. One of the most heartwarming moments was on his first morning, when he had his first PT session. As he successfully walked down the hallway with a walker, he was overjoyed, marveling at his progress—and the staff cheered him on, hyping him up and celebrating his success. That kind of encouragement set the tone for a truly positive stay. The aides were exceptional—Laura, Zee, Silpa, Yadi, Shirelle, and Fatima—always friendly, kind, and responsive. The nursing staff, including Mindy (supervising nurse), Erin, Tasha, and Sherry (APRNs), were attentive and quick to address our concerns. Kevin and Fiona (social workers) were incredibly professional and thoughtful, even making sure my dad’s discharge was timed for safe travel after snowfall. Alice, Diane, Lashunda and Shelley (PT & OT) also played key roles in his recovery and we are grateful to them all. We especially appreciated the bright, sunny dining room with large windows—it was a cheerful space to visit. The staff went above and beyond, often tracking him down at mealtimes to bring his tray to wherever we were sitting so he could enjoy his meals with family. While no stay is without its challenges, what truly mattered was how the staff responded. When we raised a concern about a noise issue in his room, the team was understanding and quickly made arrangements to move my dad, which made a big difference. The food wasn’t a highlight, but there were always sandwiches available and good coffee—which, in the grand scheme of things, was minor compared to the excellent care he received. For anyone we may have missed thanking, we sincerely appreciate everyone on the first floor for their dedication. Thank you, Whitney Manor, for the care and kindness you showed my dad—we will always be grateful!

So far less than 24hours in I am not impressed. Not enough staff, leaving a new discharged patient in an uncomfortable wheelchair in pain. No one answering for 3 hours. This place is a pit. The roommate's aide said "I messaged the nurse" but did not do anything to help my mother. No on responded to her. Postscript: I pulled my mother out of there in less than 48 hours. It was a terrifying experience for her. This is a place where a bunch of people were lined up in wheelchairs sitting in the hall... not good even with your own private duty aide to assist. PT had assessment completely wrong. Company tells me to contact them a month or two after I got mom out. I called them all day long and spoke to DON and PT manager. This place is truly a one star rehab not 5. Don’t let the rating fool you. Nothing was done to resolve the problems in a timely manner.

My review is specifically regarding the rehabilitation portion of the facility. I have no experience with the nursing home component. My loved one spent close to a month in a stay that should have been 2-3 weeks. While there are a few staff members who were a pleasure to interact with, the majority of people are very unfriendly and she would often cry and feel afraid of how she was treated in our absence.
