Living at Westminster is a great experience, the administrator is very pleasant and professional, very caring. I am very pleased with the assistance I’ve received from Candace , Chelsea, and Julie. The maintenance team goes above and beyond and they work hard to ensure our safety. It’s reassuring to know you live in a place where people genuinely care. I am very pleased with my apartment. But even more so as to how well the staff treat me.

We had a terrible experience at Westminster Suncoast. My mother was there for rehab. When they took us on a tour while she was still in the hospital, they stated that the rapid recovery patients got their own private room. We never did have a private room for her even after we asked several times during her two month stay. She had ants in her room for the entire time of her being there despite several times of requesting a different room and for them to be taken care of. She had 6 roommates, one of which passed away in the room with her which was traumatic.<br><br>The assisted living DON is unskilled, ineffective and unprofessional. If you disagree or critique her in any way, she has retaliatory behavior. She did not like that I disagreed with how she handled a situation and she denied acceptance of my mother--stating that because she has dementia she doesn't qualify for assisted living, but not confused enough to qualify for memory care and she doesn't have a reason for skilled nursing either. The ALF DON also denied my mother-in-law going back to her apartment despite her peers disagreeing with her assessment on both.<br><br>The communication was absolutely awful. I tried to file a formal grievance with the corporate office and the VP of Operations hung up on me while I was still speaking.<br><br>This is abhorrent behavior that apparently is allowed. There is a limited amount of skilled nursing and skilled rehab in the community so there are not a lot of places to choose from. Just be cautious and know that this place is not what it used to be and there is very little oversight. Where it used to be the gold standard of senior care, it has now become just a run of the mill kind of nursing home with infestations of ants and weak leadership.tt

I have never put my feelings about Westminster Communities of Florida into writing until now. I've put up with steady declines in services and little response from Management in Orlando. Today we received notice of a 10% rise in our monthly premiums (29% over the past 5 years).<br>The dining room at Westminster Shores is a disgrace. Unclean conditions, poorly trained staff, tasteless and overcooked food and frequent "we're outta that" have forced many of us to dine elsewhere on our own dime even though we are still paying for this "food".<br>As a physician one of the things that attracted us to Westminster was the promise that if we became ill a simple touch of the emergency button would bring a nurse to our unit. That disappeared during COVID and Administration firmly states it's not coming back. Phone reception in a large portion of our campus is so lousy that many 911 calls do not go through. WCOF has a policy against defibrillators even though they have been shown to TRIPLE the chance of survival in the event of cardiac arrest.<br>When we moved to Westminster Shores 4 1/2 years ago my wife and I were eager participants in Marketing activities. We hosted cocktail parties for prospective members and sat on panels touting the Shores as a great place to live. No more. I will never recommend this place to anyone and if asked will express my dissatisfaction at great length. WCOF have allowed things to deteriorate to the point where many, if not most of us would move out if we didn't have a half million dollars invested. As fees have steadily increased, services have steadily diminished. It's really like giving someone free access to your bank account without being able to do anything about it. Coming here has been the greatest mistake of my life.<br>Edward McConnell MD

Why does Westminster continue to take down negative reviews by their residents? Is Freedom of Speech not a right of every American, even if they are confined to an inflexible CCRC?
