Do NOT send your loved ones to Waukegan Health & Rehab. There were a few good people there and I'm thankful for them, but the overall experience was a nightmare. They have rules only they know & punish visitors for breaking the unsaid rules. You ask for help and get ignored a lot. My father needed his medication at a certain time & they were continually late. That in turn would agitate my father, who has Alzheimer's. We told the staff we would do laundry & they would still take his clothes to wash, then lose them. Saw multiple patients going around in my dad's clothes. People steal all the time in there, so don't bring anything of value to the facility. The people running it are so bad that people keep quitting left and right. I've had numerous negative experiences with the staff and held it in until he was finally out.<br>My dad has a narrow throat & mixed with Alzheimer's, he needs to be fed by someone so he doesn't get aspiration pneumonia and die. They refused to feed him because, per their policy, they want people to feel independent. He can physically feed himself, but realistically he shouldn't feed himself. He doesn't understand small portions, just inhales. Information never gets properly transmitted because of all the staff changes and whatnot. I could go on for days about how bad they were. If you love your family member, don't send them here.
