Unfortunately our experience there was not as pleasant as others. First impressions are important. My father in law was scheduled to move to this assisted living facility and we were to have his contract signed with the executive director Kandice Mobley. We have never met Kandice before and she never greeted us, introduced herself, and was also dismissive and erroneously tacked on additional fees and would dissmiss my father in law when questioned them. She also stated she needed to make changes to the contract, but would not explain what she was changing after being asked twice. This facility is beautiful and I am sure the staff treats the residents well, however should be kept in mind that some seniors struggle with the idea of a life changing move that will alter their life and lives of their family. Based on one person's attitude my father in law did not feel the welcome or kindness he was looking for here. He halted the contract signing and decided to not move to this facility. The impression I received was there is a waiting list so you do not matter unless it is in a form of monetary payment. Again, beautiful place, but because of the way Kandice conducted herself today it was unfortunately not a place for my father in law.

I recently visited The Cove at Waterview because I was invited there to conduct a book signing and presentation for the residents, by the Social Director. Even though I don't have a loved one at this facility, I could tell the staff are very attentive and care about the residents. Melinda and Linda are amazing, wonderful people. They call people by name, even those visiting the facility. They are so positive and friendly and make people feel right at home. It is a beautiful facility and they had such a wonderful light hors d'oeuvres spread prepared for the event. I loved meeting and talking with the residents who were part of the book club. There were also several other residents who attended the book signing and presentation. I would highly recommend this facility for your loved one, as the staff are very attentive, and go the extra mile to provide personal service and care.

Loving care started before we moved our father to the Cove. The management team, starting with Kandice, bent over backwards to find the right apartment, made it work, then found a bigger one, just to make him a bit happier. Unfortunately, he just didn’t have that much time left. The last several weeks, his care shot up, he truly couldn’t clean, eat, or do much of anything. That’s when the care staff REALLY stepped up. They kept his meds straight, kept the Hospice folks engaged and informed, kept US informed and most importantly kept Dad comfortable. Everyone of the nursing staff hugged and loved on Dad, especially after cleaning him up. They worked as a superbly well oiled team, maintaining his dignity and ensuring he knew the family was there and they were there for him. Dad passed peacefully, with dignity and surrounded with love. I just can’t say enough about the level of care Dad received. He stepped out of this world without a care or worry. We are forever in the Waterview’s debt.
