In the Spring of 2022, we met Case Manager, "Ronnie" Bison to review my wife's needs and to prepare for post surgical care in our home. We anticipated several weeks of care after a planned 5 day hospital stay. Sometimes, life gives you surprises. The planned 5 day stay turned into a 90 day "hospital nightmare". Once we got her discharged, for the past 3 1/2 years Visiting Angels has supported us with care, for both unanticipated and evolving needs. In the very beginning, she needed care 7 days a week, and as she slowly recovered, we are now down to a few shifts a week. I commend Ronnie and her management team for helping me fine tune her care as the months rolled by. While every single "Angel" who visited was professional and helpful, we did have to work through changes. Several caregivers returned to school (e.g. Radiation Technician), and others moved on in their careers, including a retirement. Ronnie's staff always had a qualified replacement ready to go. Of course over the years, there are also vacations and illness. Realistically, there are non-optimal matches, and Ronnie and her team listened carefully to my feedback to ensure we had "a good fit". Over time, several "Angels" became part of the family and added a healthy dose of love in their caregiving. A couple of them have moved on as my wife's needs grew less. Now we rely on 2 "Angels" in particular. I would like to commend Angela Helena, who among several virtues, is delightful. She has been with us since the return from the hospital. I am comforted knowing no harm would come to my wife while Angela is here. I would also like to commend Janet Keller. She was a replacement for an earlier caregiver who left to pursue full time higher education. I really appreciate Janet's intelligence and experience as she helps us through occasional predicaments. Above all else, Janet's kindness shines through her care and support. While I remain my wife's only full time caregiver, I can not do it as well without the support of Visiting Angels.
