If you think deciding whether to place your loved one in a home is difficult, don't forget you still have to decide which home, what type of care, and then you have to actually get them there and settled in. Finding Villa Fontana made it all easier because they made me certain my decisions were right. The Memory Care team there is absolute top notch (James, Sheen, Jane, Julia, Carlos and many more). Immediate response and communication. My mom was very particular with people, and we tried quite a few places before luckily finding Villa Fontana. She was encouraged to be social, which was so important because the transition from fiercely independent to requiring constant care hits hard. Aside from everything you would expect from proper care units (cleanliness, attentiveness, etc.), it was the warm environment provided by the employees and their daily activities (singing, exercise, art, etc.) that made the experience memorable and dignified. There were some rough days, but the staff was always able to make the best of it. I felt very encouraged as well on my visits, and I hope this review expresses my gratitude. Marife, the director, is one of the most kind and caring people you will meet. She doesn't just go through the motions, and it really shows through the rest of the team. And, importantly, she doesn't back away from challenges of the job. Alyssa, Jefferson, and Kayla at the front are friendly and helpful. Lasting nice memories of the ice cream parlor and walks in the courtyard were unexpected extras. If I'm lucky enough to make it to a ripe old age, this place will be at the top of my list.
