I am a part-time caregiver for my sister-in-law who resides in assisted living at Sunrise San Mateo. This organization has been outstanding from the moment she moved in 2-1/2 years ago. The employees at every level were responsive, available and made her and our family feel welcomed. Any time we have had questions or possible issues they have addressed them immediately and given us helpful input on her care. All of the employees who come in contact with her and us are so warm and friendly and seem to be smiling all the time! The important thing is, although she had some initial problems adjusting to the assisted living environment after living alone for years, the staff was uber patient and caring as she settled in and adjusted to her new normal. It didn’t take long for her to feel settled and to begin to participate in activities. She has continued to respond and blossom, and she has become a valued member of the community. I highly recommend Sunrise in San Mateo - the staff are the backbone of this facility and go out of their way to provide a warm and comforting environment.
