What a wonderful home for my Dad! Every single staff member I met, from housekeeping to RNs and in between, were amazing! They truly care about the residents and it shows! This was my first time visiting my Dad here and the various staff introduced themselves to me and what their role is in my Dad's life. The residents I talked with were very happy here, including my Dad! I simply can't thank the staff enough, these people are angels!!!! Thank you!

I called and inquired about a tour of the facility. Lennae a was exceptionally nice and said we could come any time, but expressed it would be better for us between 10:00-2:00 because of high traffic during the rest of the day. We choose to go at 10:00 and traffic was very easy to maneuver through. To our surprise we drove up to a beautiful, “NEW” VA Home. The outside was very manicured and landscaped very well. We walked in the front door and the reception room was very inviting. The open floor plan and the decor of the building made the thought of a “Home” for your loved one’s breath easier. It didn’t have that closed in feeling. The receptionist greeted us with such warmth. She was very pleasant and she asked us to wait a few minutes in the reception area. While we waited, we were greeted by so many different employees of the home, that were passing by during their shifts. It was a Great way to start our tour. Lennae, Director of Admissions, came from her office, introduced herself and took us around the entire facility. It is such an open, airy building and the staff all smiled, and greeted us as we passed by. There are “Special Rooms” for everything- the building is divided into 4 sections. Each section has so many bedrooms, a common area, with kitchen, and outside patios. There is a barber shop, therapy room and a large entertainment room where activities are held. To end our tour, we were introduced to a Veteran named Gerald, that lived at the home. He expressed how much he enjoyed living at the Home and how it had been a life saver for him. He had just had surgery and the VA Medical facility was across the street. All of the experiences he had had, had been exceptional. He expressed he was hoping to see us soon. He definitely helped with the anxiety of having to move to a home. Made you feel more relaxed and accepting. All in all, we were very impressed with everything at Tuskegee Airmen Texas State VA Home. I don’t think we could find a nicer home with so much to offer.

I am President of the Tommie Robinson American Legion Auxiliary Unit 802. I came today with the Commander of Post 802 (Angelia Herndon) to participate in the afternoon bingo game with the residents. We brought snacks and toiletries. We had a great time. The staff was phenomenal. I can't WAIT until our next visit. This is a WONDERFUL facility for our veterans.

My dad is home! He keeps telling me it feels so good to live at the Tuskegee Airmen Texas State Veteran’s home. Lennaea made the process so smooth and setup a welcome event that had us all in happy tears. The facility is well thought out and beautiful. Each of the staff have made an effort to introduce themselves with warmth. Everyone here has met high standards to be here and it shows. And they have an outstanding system to create an engaging life. Every resident I’ve met has their own amazing story to tell. I am grateful he and all the veterans are being truly cared for and protected!! I highly recommend applying!

Awesome!! 5 Star nursing home. The staff were professional and answered all my questions. The nursing staff are personal and welcoming. Can't say enough about the food, its delicious. The veterans are treated with respect and love. Well deserved. There is an on-site barbershop that serves every Wednesday for veterans. On scheduled dates the home provides transportation to the local Walmart giving the vetetans the opportunity to go shopping for all their personal needs. I highly recommend the Tuskegee Airmen Nursing home it's the perfect place for veterans.
