Staffing, staffing, staffing. It's minimal at best. The staff are well trained, and are doing their very best under less than ideal conditions. Dining room is frequently closed due to lack of staff.

Great experience with having my mother at Eastern Star for short term rehab. I was very apprehensive about leaving her anywhere, but this facility was great. On her very first day, the case manager made a gesture with my mother that almost brought me to tears, as I was so relieved. She made it seem like it was nothing, but to me it was monumental. I knew then that she was in the right place and would be well cared for. From there on I can say that every staff member she encountered was wonderful. . From the nurses to the CNA's, activities and housekeeping, everyone was pleasant and had a smile for her. Each discipline communicated all needed information. She had a private room and shower. It was well maintained. My mother had no complaints about the food. No place is perfect, but Eastern Star is about as close as you'll get!

A true gem in the rural Oriskany! The Eastern Star Home is the place I trusted for my grandmothers rehab. The housekeepers are friendly and keep the place in tip top condition. Rehab was fantastic getting her home with improved balance and gave her an exercise program to continue at home. Highly recommend! The friendly dog, Bruce, brings added joy!
