Thirwood Place is an active adult lifestyle community offering Independent Living and Assisted Living options in South Yarmouth, Massachusetts. The community is nestled in the woods overlooking Flax Pond, close to beaches, restaurants, and cultural attractions, with residences ranging from 700 square foot apartments to 1700 square foot town home style units.

The community provides three distinct living arrangements with varying levels of support. Independent Living residents enjoy maintenance-free living with home maintenance and community resources. The Cove, the community's Assisted Living option, offers three levels of care including meals, housekeeping, apartment checks, medical appointment scheduling and transportation, and assistance with activities of daily living based on individual needs. The community does not offer memory care. For those requiring support, emergency response systems include pull chains and buttons in apartments connected to staff, wearable emergency pendants, and 24-hour nursing staff availability.

Thirwood Place features extensive amenities including a heated indoor pool and hot tub, fitness center, library, billiards room, greenhouse, and art studio. The activities calendar includes balance classes and chair yoga alongside cognitive activities such as word games, BINGO, and Rummikub. The community also offers live orchestra music through the Cape Symphony program and cooking classes featuring meals prepared by an on-site chef. Transportation is provided for medical appointments within a ten-mile radius and weekly bus loops for shopping and errands, with frequent special excursions to local destinations.

Well-behaved dogs and cats are welcome to live in designated apartments at Thirwood Place. The community maintains a policy of not separating couples, ensuring that if one spouse requires Assisted Living, both can move together. Guest accommodations include complimentary meals for residents' guests, apartment stays with available cots, and hotel-style guest suites available for nightly rates.
