My mom spent a couple of years at the Vistas. I ad heard horror stories about assisted living, but they were 100% awesome in keeping me in the loop and taking care of my mom. Even in the end (she passed a week ago), she was so happy to go back to the Vistas under hospice so she could see all of her friends who helped her every day. Special thanks to the PT staff, Pam, and the ones she saw multiple times a day and loved - Lacey, Evan, and Joy. I definitely recommend them.

Up until the recent purchase of Masonic by The Vistas things were rather ok But since the purchase the facility, patient care and attention by the new power structure have been poor. This new ownership in my opinion has failed to maintain the high standards that Masonic had maintained since it's inception. During the change a number of key department heads have resigned. These individuals had at least 10 to 20;years invested with the facility. When a business losses that many key employees within a period of months one needs to question why. The new facility eliminated key employee benefits such as 401k plans and reduced insurance coverage. The staff is in a constant state of flux and staff is hard to keep. Residents who have established bonds of trust with the old nursing staff constantly are faced with new faces and styles of care In our personal experience our family member's glasses were broken, hearing aids lost and upper denture somehow lost. Within 60 days the lower plate was also lost and needed to be replaced. In all fairness the facility covered the list of replacing glasses, hearing aids, and upper denture plate. Currently they are refusing to cover the most recent loss of the lower plate. They are arguing that it is family responsibility.Wrbare currently in discussion on trying to resolve. If no resolution can be reached the Vistas at Bettendorf will be minus one private pay resident. 9 October Update I am happy to report that the matter was handled. After speaking with one of the owners who was extremely reasonable and gracious the facility covered the bill. The owner appears to be very concerned about any issues that arise. We appreciate his prompt attention to this matter.

My father could no longer be on his own so we decided on the Vistas about 2 years ago. It was the best decision we ever made. The staff took him from being depressed and sick to the life of the party!! It was amazing!! The staff contacted me on every move they made!! Living out of state it eased my mind. I visited often and my father loved it there!! In his last days he was in the hospital he just wanted to go home to the Vistas. We lost my father about 3 weeks ago at The Vistas. We were blessed to have such a wonderful place for him to be.

The Vistas at Bettendorf is a wonderful place for senior or any residents that may need compassionate, understanding, and loving skilled care. My 100-year-old mother has been at The Vistas at Bettendorf (formerly Iowa Masonic Health Facilities) since September, 2015 and she has blossomed due to the care she has received. And now, my 77-year-old brother resides at The Vistas, as well. Both are doing very well and are happy with the care they are receiving. We have previously used other long-term care facilities, but none have compared to the care given at The Vistas. The staff is very friendly, skilled, and seem to have a passion for caring for individuals needing long-term care. I would recommend them to anyone needing assistance from a long-term care facility.
