We owned 68 Old Lafayette Lane, the third home built, and we were the residents of longest duration. One of us served as HOA President, when we received the bond money from the bond company when the developer went under. Helene destroyed our home. Anyone wants to know our experience there, contact me. A very unsettling experience.

My wife and I love our home in The Settings. It is amazing to have the great layered mountain views. Mornings, we look down on a valley filled with clouds, like a lake. The clouds slowly rise and clear to reveal the quaint Town of Black Mountain (only a 5 minute drive down the hill). Later we get incredible sunsets settling behind the mountain ridges. Our community hiking trails, that start out cross-crossing a cascading stream and eventually climb up through our forest conservancy area to the Continental Divide, are excellent. At the same time we have urban quality infrastructure with Town water and sewer lines, fiber optic lines to each home, and excellent roads having curbs and storm water control. Best of both worlds. The icing on the cake is the wonderful sense of community. The people here are great.

The Settings of Black Mountain is such a beautiful community. From the gorgeous entrance, to the community trails, and the abounding views, it has so much to offer. The location being just a few miles from downtown Black Mountain, NC is ideal. You have the convenience of being close to town while being privately tucked away in the mountains.

The Settings is a beautiful community just minutes from historic downtown Black Mountain and convenient to downtown Asheville. Black Mountain "Prettiest Small Town in America" - Trip Advisor. Underground utilities, gated entry, clubhouse, hiking trails, playground and views throughout. The homes are stunning and the people are great. I love that this community is so close to town, restaurants, YMCA and more while feeling private and secluded.

The Settings overlooks the Town of Black Mountain and offers perpetual views of The Blue Ridge Parkway and surrounding mountain ranges including The Seven Sisters (and more)! The Community offers walking trails, a greeters cottage at the gated entry, paved streets with side walks, a well-appointed clubhouse with pristine mountain views and is very close to a public fitness center. Living here feels world's apart yet it's very convenient to shopping and dining; what could be better?
