My aunt has been a resident at Mountain Ridge over four years and enjoys being there. The staff is very caring and they treat her like family. However, recently the quality of the meals served has really gone downhill. A few weeks ago, dinner was a hot dog on a dry bun with packets of mustard and ketchup, a small bowl of pork & beans and a large helping of GREEN PEAS. Tonight was a type of large sausage, cabbage, a small serving of beans and a hard roll. I have heard a lot of complaints from the residents and have gone in the office behind other family members to complain about the new menus. This is not the quality of food the residents were used to prior to the sale of Mountain Ridge. I sincerely hope that the new ownership improves the quality of appropriate meals for their residents. Can't say enough good things about the staff and their interactions with the residents but people can't thrive without good food.

The quality of meals has really declined since the facility was bought out. The residents I know are losing weight because the food is inedible or improperly cooked. If you have a family member or loved one at Black Mountain, please watch their weight. They may not be eating enough. They recently didn’t have enough staff to help feed residents, so the dining room was closed and people had to eat in their rooms. The residents are too special to be treated this way.

I have nothing but high praise for Mountain Ridge. The facility is super clean and smells nice too. The staff here is what makes it so special. My aunt was there for several years. I could tell they treated her with the utmost respect and love. With my work, I have went into many care facilities. None of them can hold a candle to Mountain Ridge
