We want to share our experience with The Rosemount. Our father was in the hospital for 9 days and needed to transition to hospice upon discharge. The doctor required that he have 24/7 care to be discharged. We were new at this, so we felt our only two options were a care facility or in-home care. In weighing the options and talking to our mom, we chose the care facility route. The Rosemount had a Care Suite, which is what they recommended for his level of needs. My dad was moved to The Rosemount on Monday, April 28. Within a day of being out of the hospital, he was able to shower and dress himself. The nurses in the Care Suite only provided his medication. At this point, my dad wanted to go home and begged my mom to do this. She made the decision to bring him home on Tuesday, May 6. In total, he was there for 8 days. We have nothing negative about the care he received. Our concern was about the financial aspect of his stay. We paid $907 for the 3 days in April. My dad’s monthly care was over $9000 a month. We knew that by bringing him home in May, we would need to pay the May rent. What we didn’t realize is that because we didn’t give notice by May 1, we also had to pay for June. For my dad’s 8-day stay, my parents paid over $19,000 or almost $2400 a day. The Rosemount did say that if they were able to rent the room, my parents would get a prorated amount of the rent, but this didn’t happen. Other places that I have since talked to said that they would have done a 14-day lease in this situation because my dad was in hospice. Afterwards, another option suggested to us was to wait for hospice and do a rehab stay after the hospital instead, where he could receive this 24/7 care. While we had no recourse for this money because of the lease, my siblings and I felt that our parents were taken advantage of in this most difficult time. We didn’t learn of all of the options and felt rushed to make a decision. We have all learned much about the options and questions to ask, so we wanted to share our story for future families that may be in this same situation.

I dropped off a patient (EMS) at this facility and talked to her nurse, Rachel A. She was extremely polite and helpful. I could instantly tell that the patient I was dropping off was going to be well cared for.

Beautiful building! I love the lobby area it has a warm welcoming atmosphere. The outside is very well keep too with flowers and plants ❤️ Staff are always very friendly and helpful when you need them! 5 stars to the Rosemount Senior Living!
