My relative is a former resident of The Rivers. While the nursing home itself is very nice and the staff is caring, the prices are skyrocketing high. My relative has since moved out of The Rivers for this reason. She is a few years from 100 and has moved between almost four nursing homes in less than a year. Seniors can’t afford this place.

My Dad moved into The Rivers recently and has been so happy with being there! The staff in general has been great, from the process, paperwork, etc., so helpful. As chaotic as it all has been, we needed help with Dad right away. We got in touch with Cathy for assistance and were greeted with such positivity, caring, and professionalism we were immediately put at ease. She got right to taking care of us and him. Cathy, you are awesome!

My mom had good care at the Rivers. Unfortunately, my biggest issue with them happened after she passed away and we moved her belongings out. We were owed a refund for several days that she didn't have care after she passed. It has been over 2 months and we still have not received the refund. When I call about it, I get transferred directly to a voicemail and no one returns my call. It's disappointing that such a good experience has been soured by their lack of responsiveness. Their failure to refund our money is unethical and unprofessional. If you choose this facility, I hope you have better luck getting your money back than we have had.

After 10 months at the Rivers I am updating my review. We have moved my mother out and my father has died. The single star is to honor the caregivers who are doing the hard work of caring for residents with little support from management. Memory care is understaffed, employees are receiving low wages, turn over and unfilled leadership positions, questionable accounting practices left us no choice but to find a better home for my mom. I would not recommend the rivers Puyallup to families looking for long term care for their loved ones.

The Rivers assisted living and memory facility has been extremely supportive of our family these past 8 months. Both parents moved into Assisted Living. My dad rapidly needed to transition to Connections and then passed. So many things happened so quickly and The Rivers supported us all the way. My 5 star review is based on the fact that I truly enjoy visiting my mom in her new home and seeing the staff interact with her and other residents. Absolutely, every one of them is great! When issues arise, we feel comfortable bringing them up and, with patience, they are resolved or the situation is improved. They are notably improving on communication with families – and we truly appreciate the efforts. Mom has experienced so many little things that make her day. Housekeeping conversations, field trips, care staff routines, etc. All of these are so important to someone who’s lost a life partner. A shout out to Lindsay who is a rock star at making things happen. When we needed to move in quickly, she made sure everything was in order and done correctly. Each day she is a friendly, understanding, and encouraging presence.
