This is a truly honest, compassionate, clean, and wildly good smelling community. I have been to almost 100 nursing homes on the mainland and my own awe compels me to exclaim this one is the best. There is an air of elder kindness here beyond what I’d seen before in healthcare

I moved out of the Plaza last year. I had a medical emergency that required care and so my family placed me in the Kaneohe Plaza. While I did not like it at first - it became a godsend for me.

I was not an easy person to take care of and was kind of combative and argumentative but the people there never gave up on me. They knew all along that my goal was to get better enough to move out on my own. This only made them try harder and work with me.

The attention and the care that I got from everyone there was amazing. From the very first day I was handled with love and concern. The nurses always helped and became people that I could could on.

I became friends with the team in Activities and they were there for me when I needed someone to talk to. They also tried to keep me busy with so many choices of things to do.

When i think of how miserable I was the first few days, its surprising that i am now writing this review. But I am writing this because if it weren't for all the care I received, I would not have achieved my goal of regaining my independence.

When and if the time ever comes again,i will return to Kaneohe Plaza. Although it was temporary, everyone there made me feel like I was home.

I have been living at the Plaza Kaneohe for almost two years. I moved in as an Independent resident and enjoyed all the Plaza had to offer.
Shortly after moving in I had a medical emergency that required hopitalization and physical therapy. I was out of the community for several weeks. When I returned I was transferred to living in the Assisted Living floor.

Because of the phenomenal care that I received from the nursing staff, I was not there for long. Care Aids, nurse and others were so instrumental in making sure that I regained my strength. Before long I was able to move back to the Independent floor and experience total freedom.

The staff at The Plaza at Kaneohe are really like my extended family. Anytime I encounter a problem with my room - light bulb needing replacement; help with air conditioner - anything - I can always count of Kalai and Floyd to be there to assist.

Michele, one of the cooks in the dining room is not only funny and keeps us on her toes - she does an exceptional job at preparing tasty foods, reminiscent of home cooking.

The Aleta and her Activities team -always have something fun on the agenda. It could be ukulele lessons, a Jeopardy tournament, and always fun live music performance. The shuttle driver Laurie is there to take you to medical appointments or a quick run to Long's.

Keely runs a great circuit strength training that has been so vital in keeping me strong.

I can go on and on - -the bottom line is - -when you are ready to be pampered and cared for - come join us!!

My family and I are beyond grateful for The Plaza at Kane'ohe staff and programs. The hospitality, professionalism, communication, activities, flexibility, empathy, reassurance and understanding have been vital in the transition for our family member to this new and next season of life. I have the utmost confidence that she is well cared for, safe and provided for, especially given her significant memory decline. We are encouraged everyday when we see that she has participated in all the activities (including exercise, games, entertainment, sight-seeing, crafts and more!). She has adjusted well to her new home and has expressed excitement about new friends and activities. She lives in a very clean environment with lots of windows and gorgeous views all around, medication management and laundry services. Thank you to the incredible staff, from the bottom of our hearts, for the excellent care you provide every day. You have become family to us. Mahalo palena 'ole!

My Mom moved into The Plaza-Kaneohe on April 2024. It was the best thing that we could have done. It is very clean, welcoming, accommodating, and a wonderful community. The whole staff are very kind and compassionate. Elita, the head of activities, runs an amazing program. She is a force of nature and truly cares about each resident. She does by example and has great energy. Elita greats each new resident with much kindness and shows a true interest in each. Elita continually follows up with each resident to make sure they are doing well, are safe, engaged, and is keeping active. Elita hired a great staff to work for her. Jennifer is a glow of light, very outgoing, and has true compassion and empathy for each resident. Keeley is also an integral part of the activity staff. Every day is filled with activities that are engaging, stimulating for the body (different exercise classes), mind, creativity, and socialization. They have activities in the 1st floor activity room which has full windows looking into the garden, waterfall wall, and also has an attached movie theater room. There are also activities planned in the 3rd floor activity room. Elita has made sure that there is something always going on during the day and that the residents are happy.
