Placing our Dad/husband in a live-in Memory Care home was one of the hardest decisions we've faced. After careful consideration, we chose Hale Kūʻike in Kāne‘ohe for its beautiful facility, welcoming staff, and promise of top-tier Alzheimer’s care. Despite fully disclosing his moderate-stage Alzheimer’s symptoms, including restlessness and sleep disturbances, we were given notice less than two weeks after moving him in , that we would need to find a different home for him in the next 30 days. We question whether he was given adequate time by Hale Ku’ike Bayside to adjust to his new environment.<br>Please know that Hale Kūʻike is selective in the Alzheimer’s behaviors it’s willing to handle. The unexpected discharge, and having to move our Dad a second time, was an emotional challenge for our family.
