About The Orchards At Lapeer

The Orchards at Lapeer is a skilled nursing and long-term care facility in Lapeer, Michigan, licensed for 87 residents. It provides both short-term rehabilitation and extended care services.

Family experiences at the facility are mixed. Those satisfied with care highlight attentive staff, particularly the executive director and clinical team, who listen to concerns and follow through on family requests. The facility offers practical services including transportation to dialysis appointments. The building is older but maintained cleanly. Some families note that staffing can feel stretched, though this appears common across facilities in the region.

Quality of care has been inconsistent in families' accounts. While some report knowledgeable and professional staff, others have raised concerns about managing chronic conditions—one family noted difficulty controlling their relative's blood sugar levels—and about nurse-to-patient ratios. My husband is currently a guest at The Orchards of Lapeer and we both are quite pleased with the care he is receiving. The building is older but it is very clean. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and professional. A feature they offer is transportation to and from dialysis and that is one of the reasons we chose this care facility.

Its very clean, and caring. The activities are appropriate. Sometimes seems short staffed, but they all are. They accept Medicaid

If I could give this location ZERO stars I would, my Mother is there and has been there before when it was a different owner. The old company the Villages was amazing and family like environment, the administration leader went over and beyond. This new company and new administration leader(I think her name is Michelle) is not a leader, is a joke and useless, time to retire. I’ve spoke with other family members and she’s a “RN” but doesn’t seem to care what happens at this building at all. Her door is ALWAYS locked and shut, we aren’t allowed to talk to her. I’ve seen plenty of patients on the floor when I’m there and durning the day no one comes running like they do on the later shifts. The location went from rehab to psych house and I’ve seen an older man who walks try to attack a cna on the late night shift and nothing happened to him. That’s not right! They forget meals and don’t do wound care, my mother had bandages on that were a week old. The CNAs who care are drained and get blamed for everything. They don’t make enough to work here. The states been in and out of this building in the past 3 months and nothing happens due to the lies(they spoke with us). I hear day shift talking about it all the time. One more month of rehab and never again!

The executive Director and staff will really listen to your concerns. Everyone there is on a different journey. Whether you’re going through a short-term rehab or it’s a long-term stay. Knowing you have people behind you and extra resources is a very comforting feeling. I had a great experience and would recommend checking it out for yourself. Stephanie, Heidi and Josh are top notch!!
