The Oaks is the last place on earth I would send a loved one. My grandfather was sent here, despite my sister’s and my protests, and was treated terribly by his nurses. My grandfather was a veteran and a good man. Sadly, he suffered from dementia later in life. Instead of treating him with understanding and compassion, the nurses at the Oaks disconnected his call button and moved him to the back corner of the building. I’m guessing they didn’t want to hear him calling for help. Additionally, they later sedated him so heavily that he could not participate in his rehabs and eventually was unable to eat or drink. Each time I visited him he looked worse. During my visits, the nurses rarely came to check on him. When they did come into the room, it was only to give him more sedation medicine, despite the fact that he was already (and always) completely knocked out. When I respectfully asked the nurse what medicine she was giving him and at what times, she became defensive and agitated. I learned that they were keeping him sedated around the clock- keeping him completely passed out all day! When was he to eat and drink? Much less spend time with his family during his last days? In my heart, I truly believe this place took months off of my grandfather’s life. Do not send your family to this place if you want your loved one treated with dignity and respect. Places like this should be shut down.

Excellent care and therapy services. They were good to me. From the very beginning until the end. I would highly recommend The OAKS.

I was there the month of January. Day staff wanted to help, but only one na was available the whole 12 hour shift which made a horrible day. I would go hours with out care. I am concerned paraplegic with a vast about of nurse damage. Liberty and upper management she be ashamed of themselves. God sees all, and He is not pleased. Families be aware your loved is well in your presence.

My father had a very short rehab stay at The Oaks following surgery. The administrative team gave me a tour when I arrived unannounced to check out the facility before moving him. The admissions director was most helpful guiding me through the admissions process. The care team kept me informed with a team meeting. The case worker, business manger and admissions staff were very supportive. During his stay transportation had to be arranged for a follow-up doctor appointment and the front desk took care of all the details. The PT staff is outstanding.
