The Hearth at Drexel

The Hearth at Drexel is an assisted living and memory care community located in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania, serving the Philadelphia area. Built around a landmark historic mansion on the Main Line in suburban Philadelphia, the community has roots extending over 100 years through its predecessor, the Mary J. Drexel Home, and is part of Liberty Lutheran.

The community offers three levels of assistance within a household-style living environment. Residents occupy personally decorated private apartments—available as studios, one-bedroom, or two-bedroom units—each with a private bath. The community emphasizes an "age in place" philosophy, allowing residents to stay in their private apartments as care needs change while receiving 24-hour support from a caregiving team.

Daily life includes chef-prepared meals served throughout the day, starting with breakfast and friendly conversation, followed by lunch with varied options such as chef salads, grilled cheese with tomato soup, and fish and chips. The Director of Dining Services engages with residents in their apartments to learn their food preferences and meal ideas. Residents also participate in Liberty Lifestyles wellness programs scheduled throughout the day.

The community is designed around resident-centered activities and maintains a family-like atmosphere with personalized care tailored to individual preferences and lifestyle needs.
