The care level is very good at The Hearth. The food program is not as advertised in the brochure and the rooms are rather small and carpets could use cleaning. Not a fan of all the dead trees viewed from the windows.<br>My biggest complaint would be price increases. Twice in a year and a half amounting to almost 15% total.<br>My Mom seems happy and that's the most important thing. It's about the best you can find in her area and The staff really care.

Let me start by saying how nervous I was moving my dad here after events that unfolded at the Residence at Bala Cynwyd (note- NEVER, EVER, EVER send your loved one there). I had a bad taste in my mouth after they left an 80+ yr old woman in a closed van in 98 degree weather for over 2 hrs. The very next morning I was at the Hearth for a tour.<br><br>I cannot say enough good things about this assisted living community and the care my father received during his time here.<br><br>From day one, the team was incredibly communicative, responsive, and genuinely caring. I especially want to recognize Precious, Elizabeth, and Angela who went above and beyond in ways that made a very difficult time so much easier for our family. Their compassion, attention to detail, and true concern for my father’s well-being did not go unnoticed.<br><br>The level of care and organization was exceptional. My father’s room was always clean, orderly, and thoughtfully maintained, with everything put away neatly. I also deeply appreciated that his laundry was handled individually and not mixed in with other residents’—it’s a small detail that reflects a much higher standard of care. The entire care team always seemed to be on the same page which suggests strong leadership with solid and repeatable systems were in place.<br><br>During a particularly stressful time when my father had a hospital stay that transitioned into rehab, Elizabeth was instrumental in helping us navigate the process. While the hospital system provided very little support and was pushing for discharge without helpful options, Elizabeth stepped in and made sure my father was placed appropriately. I truly don’t know what we would have done without her advocacy.<br><br>If I had to mention one area for improvement, it would be the food, which could benefit from more variety and higher quality. That said, it does not take away from the outstanding care and support provided by the staff.<br><br>Overall, I genuinely believe my father received the best care possible in an assisted living setting. I am incredibly grateful to this team for their dedication, kindness, and professionalism. These people were my dad's angels.<br><br>My father passed away at the Heart on Nov 21, 2025 and upon hearing, Elizabeth came in on her day off to spend some time with me and offer her condolences. Talk about a true class act.

We researched many places to take care of my father and settled on The Hearth for their clear "above and beyond" care for each resident and the caring staff there have more than lived up to our expectations.

My partner spent the last 18 months of her life in the Hearth's memory care unit. The care staff is amazing. They of course did the basics: medication, activities, personal care, etc. But Alzheimer's comes with additional challenges. My partner would lash out, would stalk the halls at night, would refuse care and food. The staff was incredibly patient, ignoring insults, walking with her, and waiting until she was ready and willing to accept the care she needed. They could see that there was a kind and loving person behind the disease, and they fell in love with her too. Multiple staff members cried with us when she passed, and while we sat with her and waited for the end, staff ensured that we had food, drinks, and other things to make us comfortable. The five-star review goes beyond the care staff. The maintenance staff was kind to her. The people providing physical, occupational, music, and pet therapy were all terrific. It's a scary thing to put a loved one in the care of a team you've never met. Our family was fortunate to find the Hearth.

Has a hard time accommodating to a Diabetic diet …never any sugar free options…Also has a hard time accommodating seating for loved ones visitors
