The Arbors at Shelburne

My husband has been a resident of The Arbors at Shelburne for a little over 9 months. From day one every member of the staff from administrators to nurses to direct care givers, to kitchen staff and maintenance staff knew his name and talked with him. I am constantly amazed at how any staff member will stop whatever they are doing to help a resident in need. The facility has wonderful activities from 9:00 am to 5 pm everyday including weekends. Residents are encouraged to attend but they may come and go as they please. Activities are designed to exercise the residents minds and physical capabilities. When the weather is good, activities frequently take place outside in the courtyard. There are frequent concerts by local artists and some residents who have limitied conversation abilities are able to sing along. Twice a week there are outings in the facility’s bus and while everyone cannot go everytime, everyone is given an opportunity sometimes. I have had experience with other memory care centers for other family members and no where did I see both the number of activities and the number of residents out and about during the day.<br>I am beyond happy with my experience at The Arbors. My husband’s symptoms have changed since he moved in. The staff has gone above and beyond to address the changes and find solutions to make him more comfortable. My son knows that if I ever need memory care, The Arbors is where I want to go!

My husband lived at the Arbors for 21 weeks. After numerous hospital stays and decline my family realized that his health issues were more than I could handle. I was not convinced but decided to place him there for a short time. Looking back now, I definitely know that he was in an amazing home. He was treated with the upmost respect and kindness. I visited him just about every day and felt welcomed. I cannot thank the staff enough for the good care that my dear husband received those few months and in his final days.

Realizing my loved one needed more care than I could provide at home was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to address. It was also they would need 24 hour care that could address serious physical and cognitive needs. Thank you to the staff of The Arbors at Shelburne. My loved one is safe and loved by the staff who can address their needs. For example my loved one has have flipped their circadian sleep schedule so the staff make sure they can get meals any time they want to eat. I can rest knowing that my loved one is being cared for with dignity and affection.

My grandma had problems at another place. It wasn't their fault, my grandma needed a different place. The Arbors has been amazing for her. She has fit in very well and likes it there. Thank you to the amazing staff, I am grateful for your efforts

The staff at the Arbors were incredibly kind, patient and professional. Not only did they go above and beyond to make sure our mom was comfortable and had her needs met, but they also were welcoming to my father who visited my mom almost every day. The environment at the Arbors was beautifully maintained and it felt more like a home than a nursing home. We feel fortunate that our mom was able to transition from the hospital to such a welcoming place.
