Our experience with the Apsley was absolutely amazing. They treated our whole family with respect and caring through the entire process. The facility itself was beyond reproach. Everything was new , clean , and well designed. The staff across the board were well engaged and smiling. Morganne , on the sales side were helpful on every possible way. We are grateful and highly recommend the Apsley.

This place is overrated. The problems are not unique to this location. The staff was friendly, but management lacks the ability to inspire. They have some incredibly caring employees. The place has a high turnover rate, so I cannot assume that they were all bad employees. I took my mother out because of it. I would suggest instead of loosing employees, inspire them, tend their growth. You might discover more gems behind the facades. When my concerns were brought up to management, they give a nice smile, but don't do much to address it. I guess all they care about is the money they were making from my mother.

My father was a resident at the Apsley for almost two years, he passed away recently. I cannot begin to explain the gratitude I have for the care and compassion not only he received by myself and the rest of our family. They were able to coordinate with hospice so that care could be provided on site and allowed him to be comfortable in his last days. The staff are incredible and for the reminiscence floors help not only the patients but visitors feel comfortable and included. This is premium care and I can verify that the price is commensurate with the care provided.

I came to The Apsley on behalf of my 93 year old father. To a person, my interactions with the staff were genuine and warm. From the Executive Director, the sales team, the woman at the front desk, and the aides I met---everyone could not have been kinder. I got a chance to speak with a resident who is in the independent living wing and when I asked her how she liked living at The Apsley, she said--and I quote--"I don't like it here. I LOVE it here!!!" She was exuberant about the staff, the programming, the meals. She went on and on with a huge smile on her face. She was someone I met randomly in the lobby while she waiting for transportation to take her somewhere. Residents in assisted living and in memory care looked very well cared for. The living spaces are well designed and thought out. The programs are very well crafted--Broadway singers come and entertain the residents. There is also a relationship with Julliard so amazing musicians also come to the Apsley to play for residents. There was a lecture going on when I was there--which was very well attended. One thing that I found very impressive was not just that the speaker had a microphone so all could hear him, but behind the speaker in very large type were his words on a screen as he was speaking them. If any resident might have had hearing trouble even with the mic, they could certainly follow along on screen. The dining room is bright and large and I particularly liked that the dining hours are flexible and that independent living residents and assisted living residents can dine together. Memory care residents dine together on the memory care floor. I cannot say enough about this place. I would highly recommend it to anyone who has a family member in need. Impressive in every respect.

My father moved into the Apsley 8 months ago and has found his new home. From our first visit, we fell in love. The building is new construction and purpose built to be an assisted living. This was important to us as it makes my dad’s life getting around convenient and safer. The public spaces are generous (especially for Manhattan) and decorated with museum quality art and interesting sculptures. After 8 months, we are still discovering new, unique art pieces. There are plenty of spaces to relax and read, a movie theatre, a lovely outside terrace on the 14th floor, and well stocked art studio—Dad has discovered he has an inner artist! There is a beauty shop/barbershop where Dad had his first manicure/pedicure. The restaurant is gorgeous with extra high ceilings, overlooks Broadway and has a different delicious menu each meal. While the facility is impressive, the staff is what makes the Apsley home. Each team member is caring, thoughtful and go out of their way to make sure my father is happy and well taken care of. We are thrilled with the level of care and attention he receives every day. Finally, the daily programing is spectacular. From live string quartet performances, history lectures, and special events, there are plenty of daily activities to keep my dad entertained and engaged. There has even been two live performances by well known Broadway actors! The decision to move to an assisted living was difficult and we are so fortunate we found the Apsley—my dad has found a wonderful new community and a new place to call home.
