I want to give this place 5 stars so bad. I just can’t. My in-laws have been at AbbeWood for over a year. First when we moved in we were never told about a community fee a one time charge. We are already moved in so we had no choice but to pay that. Their billing in the beginning was never right. My in-laws are an independent living. And I do try to understand that the residence can come and go as they want. My father-in-law has went to the emergency room several times. We had one phone call out of all the times he went to the emergency room to let us know we that he was taken by ambulance. The last time we were told the maintenance guy took my father-in-law to the emergency room. Not one single call they were gone for eight hours. Then we decide to look into assisted living and that’s when the problem started even bigger. We had an appointment somehow it got mixed up then we were told to fill out the paperwork from the doctor fax that over and they will get in contact with us and let us know what level of care they would need, We got everything faxed over. I waited a few days and then the weekend. I decided to call to find out if they received the fax information. I left a voicemail, text message to have somebody please call me so we could move forward with this. Waited a few more days I call and I’m told the lady who does that part Kathy resigned. I then say do we know if she received the information from the doctors for my Inlaws to move over to assisted-living and move forward with us nobody had any idea. I was told by the front desk to call Kim back in a half hour and she’ll see if she can find the paperwork call back in a half hour and I was told Kim was out of the building. I then explain to the lady you just asked me to call back. Greg the head Nurse did pick up the phone and told me they had not received any paperwork that they needed. I then hand-deliver the paperwork and I wait again then I then get a text message stating my father-in-law is a level five care and my mother-in-law is a level three it will be $9238 and some odd cents. That information came through a text. I’ve yet to still talk to anybody. We’re going on four weeks when I receive that tax I called immediately was sent to voicemail. Then I text back and say I would like to talk to you about the level of care and the pricing that you’re giving me that was on Monday we are on Thursday still no phone call. My Inlaws only need reminders they can shower themselves, go to the bathroom themselves, walk to the dining room, it is strictly friendly reminders. Take your meds, Let’s go to lunch, today’s shower day. I expressed this to them a long time ago again I’m waiting for somebody to call me to discuss the pricing. Would I recommend AbbeWood absolutely not, yes, it is very clean facility do they know what they’re doing? No! And because of that we will be moving my Inlaws again. I’m sharing this story because I truly hope this doesn’t happen to somebody else as it happened to me.

Was checking several different places, and my experience with Dara at Abbewood was by far the best. She answered all my questions, gave me a tour of the facilities, and gave me ideas for resources I hadn’t even thought about. The nurse, Kathy, that came out to assess my Dad was great, and he had nothing but good things to say of the experience. I can’t recommend them enough, and feel that my Dad will be in great hands.

My dad started in Independent Living and then moved to Assisted living. The director,Terri, was easy to work with. Great experience in Independent Living. The nurses in AL were really good as were most of the aides. The aides were often understaffed though.
Front Desk staff was very friendly as were the servers in the dining room.
A beautiful campus with the pond out front, and courtyards
