RUN! We lived in Tanglewood for nearly 3 years. The neighbors are great. That is the only good thing that can be said. The current manager is Tamar. She will not answer phone calls from residents or return email questions. If you go over her head to corporate officers, the will stand behind her. Residents live in fear of management. This is NOT an exaggeration. Go talk with the residents. The current lot rent is over $1200 for new residents. Violate a rule and you may be evicted. There is a rule about flags, for example. One US flag is allowed. No others. Not a garden flag, not a sports team flag. Tamar refuses to speak with the HOA. She told me that she doesn't care what the law says, she makes the rules. Read chapter 723 of the Florida statutes. That tells you what rights you have. At this time, 15% of the homes in the park are for sale. People want out but can't. It is next to impossible to sell your home. Every year there is and will continue to be a rent increase. This year it was an increase of $75. They built a pickleball court that was finished a year ago. Still not open. Amenities are almost non-existent. Once you sign the lease, they have total control. You are stuck. You cannot just leave. It is difficult to justify paying that much lot rent for getting nothing but a pool, small gym and a clubhouse you can use occasionally. Run as fast as you can in the other direction. Talk with the residents.
