As a hospice worker, I have interacted with the team at sweetbriar for 6 years. Throughout that time many of the team members have remained consistent. The current manager, Nicole, has always been great to work with and she is who I look to when an urgent placement is needed because she works efficiently. I have a lot of faith in this team and I love the building with its courtyard, rose garden, cozy living room. It’s homey and sweet just like the name says.

July 2025, My mother went to stay for a 5 day respite. We had hoped that this would be repetitive thing in the future and were considering a possible permanent stay which is why we were ok paying the $2500 community fee in addition to their daily rate. We met with the Executive Director, Nicole Hampl, several times prior to her stay. We informed her of my mothers dementia and history of UTIs and even brought in two different medications she was taking to prevent them. During her stay, she was never showered - not once. Chart notes state that she refuses to shower, but since my mother has dementia, we assumed they knew what they were doing and would have coerced her into getting a shower at least once. My mother is easy to coerce if given options. Once we returned home, she tested positive for a UTI. Additionally, we unintentionally left her wallet in her room - it was stolen with about $100 in it. Don't care about the money, but someone took the whole wallet which included her SS card, medicare card, and other cards. All we got from them was "So sorry, we never have had this issue before". We filed a police report. Finally, she was only taken out of her room 1 time during her stay - also based on chart notes. I contacted Nicole Hampl and requested our non-refundable community fee to be returned but that of course fell on deaf ears - no response. Pricing is good here, but they have a thief in their staff and don't truly know how to handle dementia patients. There are a lot of bad assisted living homes out there, but this one has to be at the top of the list. I would recommend everyone to look elsewhere.

We would like to provide Sweetbriar Villa’s staff with a big five star shoutout! Nicole, their Executive Director, is quick to respond to clients needing to be admitted. She even worked a Saturday and Sunday to make sure a resident would be ready for a Monday move-in.

As we move residents in at Sweetbriar the caregivers are warm and supportive. My wife was diagnosed with leukemia and entered HOSPICE
We had to end up after a short time entering assisted living.. sweetbrier signed us up, took our money and unfortunately she passed 3 days later. I tried to contact the person who I thought was ahead of the financial end, not once but numerous times with no success no one has returned my calls about what my financial obligations are, or if .any of my original amount will be refunded or what. I find this completely unprofessional. And when a family member went to pick up her belongings they pointed her to the room and she had to pack them and it was noted that the toilet was not even flushed. Nice facility but not professional personnel.
