I have a friend who lives here and just loves it! The staff are so friendly and upbeat. I got to meet the building director and she is absolutely delightful! Whenever I come by, my friend can't rave enough about how I should hurry up and move in already!

Just moved my mother and father-in-law into this location 3 weeks ago.
We were very impressed when we toured last fall, great staff and great programs. It seemed like a wonderful choice.
Upon moving in the spring, we found out the property had been sold. And for whatever reason many of the key leadership decided they had no place under the new ownership. (Not an excellent sign.. )The head salesperson that gave us the initial tour and was so great, even the executive director left.. these were the people that put their heart and soul into making the community so wonderful In the previous years. I'm sure they were heartbroken to leave but couldn't see it working out for them. I don't know the reason but it seems either the new ownership is actually just a worse company, or the ownership transition was handled very poorly.
Stonehaven is currently borrowing time from an executive director of a different property.
We discovered there has been plenty of turnover in the kitchen and care staff In the past weeks and months as well.. I was not impressed with the kitchen staff's ability to greet you when you arrive, take your order, communicate, and deliver the order competently, we did have one meal there and were very under impressed by the experience.. although the food was fine.
One of the primary draws was the respite care which is Part-Time memory Care. My father-in-law's dementia is progressing and putting a major strain on my mother-in-law. The 4 hours per day "journeys" program was perfect.
However. After a few weeks, they told us my father-in-law could no longer be in the program, citing concerns about the staff's ability to manage him and his energy.
This comes just after my mother and father-in-law moved to this particular community. Got settled. Began to build a new life in Minnesota. This journeys program was a lifeline for my mother-in-law. And now we're back to ground zero.. why should they stay?
The way they told her that my father-in-law was kicked out. They ganged up on her in a call and insisted in communicating with her while she was driving in the car and my father-in-law was in the vehicle as well. This was far from ideal.
Also the nursing staff in while memory Care.... While there being an outsized contingent of non-native English speakers, this doesn't by definition pose any problem. However, their go-to is to say " no" repeatedly to the residents. (We witnessed this firsthand when visiting my father-in-law in the the 4 hours per day memory Care) And you can imagine how well that actually works... And when the residents are nearly 100% Caucasian and elderly, this additionally poses an immediate communication barrier.
Also the quality curriculum that we were sold in memory Care seems to be lacking, or poorly delivered. It tends to assume the residents are all docile. And neglects the ability to keep a resident like my father-in-law engaged, who likes to be doing things and isn't content sitting still.. it would seem the leadership and pride in that curriculum is not what was advertised to us last fall.
What we're seeing and feeling here has led us to conclude that the heart and care that was at stonehaven In the past years that made it great,, seems to have vanished with the previous ownership and leadership.
(I should be careful not to speak for every staff member. many who remain are excellent and great people - my point is when a leadership shakeup shakes up so much of the staff, real consequences do occur despite there being some great staff remaining)
If you're considering this residence I would press hard on all these topics and get some answers about a clear vision and plan to recover from this mess. And in truth: probably just pass. As of now, we're back to searching. We're sad, crying, and frustrated as hell.

Visited the facility with my wife and her 91 year old mother. Gabby gave a very nice tour and everyone we met from workers to residents were very kind. A very welcoming place to live.

I am very pleased with Stonehaven for my husband. The staff is kind, caring and respectful. It is bright, cheerful and comfortable with a beautiful patio for the memory care.
