I am a resident at the Stillwater nursing home in Bangor Maine. I’ve lived here since October 2024. I moved here from Dexter Maine nursing home because I had to have dialysis and Dexter was not able to transport me, but thankfully Stillwater is able to do that. I really like living at Stillwater nursing home. The staff are very pleasant to be around from the nurses to the CNA’s even to the housekeeper, some laundry and kitchen staff. They’re all very kind. They’re willing to help you and they don’t make you feel like you’re putting them out. The place is really nice and clean, but it doesn’t feel sterile. It’s homie. I feel like the nurses know what they’re doing and we get to feed the doctors as often as we need them. They hear every week which is a big change from what I lived with before so when I’m sick I get treated right away and that’s very nice. The staff in front of us all get along well I don’t see any clicks and you never hear anyone grumble about another staff. It’s a very happy atmosphere here. They have great fun activity here and a beautiful deck outback that we can hang out on in good Weather. They even have flower boxes on it that the residence could help plant stuff in this year. They’re doing flowers and herbs in them. Also, the food here is delicious. They know how to cook a chicken without drying it out in the same thing for pork and they have a good variety of food that they feed us. I’m even happy with the laundry. They take your dirty clothes sometimes they bring them back the same day they’re always back the next day And they’re all nice and clean and they smell good and they’re all hung up for you. I was really scared to come here. I don’t always like change, but I’m so glad that I did. All my experience here at Stillwater nursing home has been wonderful and I would recommend it to anyone
