Update: shortly after my review I received a text saying that “i could only tour during certain times”. I understand they are busy, but they don’t seem flexible to others schedules.<br><br>I wanted to tour this weekend but there was no one available. I’m just disappointed because I’ve heard great things, but I had to look at other communities as an option that could accommodate me.

I used to love Starling and the services it provided. However I noticed a significant change this spring. I know there were changes with the management team and I don’t think those changes were a good idea. I’ve noticed staff seem less happy and excited to be there. Turnover has been terrible. And I feel like it’s not the same it used to be. It pains me to write this because I always thought this was the greatest community in the area and I no longer feel that way. Honestly, if I could give it zero stars, I would.

My wife was a resident of Starling Ponte Vedra for one and one/half years, until she was evicted 2-9-26. She has been in a wheelchair for the past year and Starting evidently had no trouble transferring her from wheelchair to bed during that time. All of a sudden a new memory care director arrives and within about three weeks four residents, all in wheelchairs, were evicted. The reason was stated as “too difficult to transfer, needs skilled nursing “. The problem is Starting does not possess a ECC (Extended Congregate Care” license. Memory Care Facilities with a ECC license can provide extended care that Starling cannot provide. So if you are looking to place a loved one in a memory care facility, you are much further ahead by finding a place that provides ECC coverage rather than going to a facility that can only provide very basic care, then evicts the resident when additional care is required.
