Beautiful Church was my parish as a young girl. I am so happy that it is now a shrine and everyone has the chance to worship! She is a wonderful Saint! Please visit and give to this shrine

This national shrine to Saint Rita of Cascia welcomes all, is free to visit and open 7 days a week. Rita is beloved as the saint of the impossible.There is a lovely full-color statue of St Rita outside, with a brief history of her story. Inside are rooms for baptism, prayer, confessions and mass. There are eternal candles burning and areas to pray. You can make a small donation($1) and electronically light a candle. A highlight downstairs is a beautiful mural that celebrates Rita as an agent of healing, peace and reconciliation. She is celebrated as the saint of the impossible. One of the miracles cited is that her corpse remained remarkably preserved or incorrupt for centuries after her death. The shrine was built in 1956, with restorations 1990 and 2010. It is handicap-accessible and there's a peaceful courtyard with statues. There is a small gift shop staffed by volunteers with religious mementos.

Nice downstairs but main Church was closed. We were with out of State visitors.

Somehow the gift shop is closed on Good Friday. I planned to get a gift for this weekend. Incredibly disappointing
