About St Monica Center For Rehabilitation & Healthcare

St. Monica Center is a 180-bed skilled nursing facility located in the heart of South Philadelphia. It was founded through the vision of former St. Monica Parish Pastor, Monsignor Aloysius Farrell, and his aunt, Mary Townsend, who set aside funds to establish a Catholic nursing residence in South Philadelphia. Today the center provides long-term care and short-term rehabilitation for the elderly in a caring, supportive, neighborly environment.

An interdisciplinary team of nurses, social workers, and rehabilitation experts works to meet the individual needs of each resident, with a focus on making residents and families feel at home and welcome. The staff operates under the philosophy that residents don't live in the facility—the staff works in their home.

The center offers a full range of rehabilitative services, including specialized treatment aimed at aiding recovery and enhancing independence through personalized rehabilitation plans. Compassionate, personalized care is delivered around the clock to support residents' comfort and well-being, addressing physical, social, and spiritual needs.

A Memory Support community is available, tailored to meet the needs of residents living with dementia, Alzheimer's, and other memory impairments.

As a Catholic-faith institution, St. Monica Center is committed to providing care rooted in the belief that all people possess innate dignity. The admission process is structured to be simple for residents and families, with admissions accepted 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The center accepts Medicare and Medicaid as well as many private insurance plans, and its professional team assists families in understanding benefits and the application process.

Our family had such a wonderful experience at St. Monica Rehab in South Philly. The staff was caring, professional, and attentive from the moment we arrived.
