This is one of the most disgusting places I’ve ever had the displeasure of visiting. It’s like New Jack City in real life. There were drug addicts with needles in their arms in the halls and they didn’t even live there. The residents were so afraid, they couldn’t leave their homes. The addicts were literally sleeping outside of their doors on the ground. The elevator wreaked of piss and death. Completely disgusting. I should have taken pictures. They broke the vending machines to pieces. The office manager Annette Ducote is sending letters to the tenants stating that they owe money to the apartments for various reasons and that they have to pay her. I visited today and noticed they have 1 security guard. The same security guard that was walking across the street after leaving the Exxon with a bag of goods. If he’s security…who was guarding the building when he left for however long he was gone???? I’m not sure if the owners are aware and don’t care or they just do not know what’s happening at this mostly black elderly independent living facility. The Terraces on Tulane is in the next block and they are in no way as deplorable as these apartments. The police have been called here almost weekly. A ownerless dog wouldn’t even live here. Disgusting. I know for a fact that complaints go unanswered. I should have called Lee Zurich or Helena Moreno to see the filth and unsafe conditions these folks are living in. Please do not allow you relatives to move in this place. BEWARE!!!!! For the ones that are already here…find them somewhere else to live. If you relative is not on drugs…get them out of this place.
