While there are still some dedicated staff, there has been a noticeable decline in overall care and consistency. Basic needs are not always met in a timely manner, communication between staff and departments often feels disorganized, and the overall cleanliness of the facility has been concerning. There have been instances where rooms and shared spaces were not maintained to an appropriate standard, which raises questions about hygiene and resident safety. What has been most concerning to witness is the environment that has developed. On multiple occasions, I personally observed cash being given directly to staff with the understanding that it would impact the level of attention a resident received. This was serious enough that it has been reported to the Department of Health. Most staff have acknowledged that things have gone downhill recently, which speaks volumes. There is also a noticeable shift in priorities. At times, it has felt as though staff and leadership are more focused on protecting themselves or managing appearances than ensuring consistent, quality care for residents. I would also encourage families to look closely at the timeline and context of older reviews. From my understanding, at least one of the highly positive earlier reviews was posted by someone in a leadership role at the facility at the time. That context is important, as the current conditions do not reflect what many past reviews describe. This does not feel like an issue of a few individuals, but rather a larger problem with leadership, oversight, and accountability. Families should be aware that the experience today may not reflect what older reviews suggest.

I feel compelled to write this review so that families considering St. Joseph’s Place have a more current understanding of what the facility has become. Based on our experience with my grandmother, it appears the quality of care has declined significantly since the facility’s last public reviews and inspections. There are some truly wonderful staff members here. The activities department and therapy team (PT/OT/Speech) have been excellent. They communicate well with families, treat residents with kindness, and clearly care about the people they work with. They deserve recognition for the effort they put into their jobs. Unfortunately, our family’s experience with my grandmother has raised serious concerns about the facility as a whole. We have experienced frequent issues with unanswered call bells, inconsistent assistance with basic care, and ongoing confusion among staff regarding her care plan. Families should not need to be present constantly to ensure that basic care needs are being met. What is especially concerning is that even some staff members have acknowledged that the facility has declined in recent months and expressed frustration with the current environment themselves. While there are clearly good people working here who care about residents, the larger issues appear to stem from a lack of leadership, organization, and accountability within administration. Families considering placement should ask detailed questions, visit frequently, and stay actively involved in their loved one’s care. I sincerely hope leadership takes these concerns seriously and works to restore the level of care and accountability residents and their families deserve.

Everybody here was very good and nice! Amy the CNA is excellent, the rehab has been a huge help for my leg and walking abilities. I would gladly recommend St Joe's to anybody in need of rehabilitation. They all do their job really well here.

During my experience at St. Joseph's rehab center, I have found that the dietary department (chef and sous chef) are excellent. More than a five star! I would give them an 120%. I can't praise them enough bc the food here is the best food I've ever tasted in an institution (and I used to work in a nursing home in Brooklyn). It tops my home cooked food. I can't thank them enough. The nurses, RNs LPNs and CNAs are wonderful. They're caring, compassionate and treat you like you're their family. Then you have housekeeping. The housekeeping department is excellent. Everything is spotless, they sleep and mop the floors and even dust the TV. I was in Delaware Valley before this and they didn't touch the floors for 7 days! Physical, occupational, and speech therapy... forget about it - they're all great! They have amazing personalities! Kayla is so bubbly, Sharon and I have lots of fun together, and Alex is certainly sweet. Speech I only saw once but they were very nice too! My experience at St Joe's rehab has been the best of my life. I dont like hospitals or rehab centers, but this year I turned 81 and had to spend lots of time in Healthcare settings. If I ever ever need a rehab again I will immediately ask for St Joe's. I can't wait to come back and visit!!
