I am writing this review for my wife who had an excellent experience at this facility. She would like to praise the dedicated, hard working staff including nursing, dietary, housekeep, maintenance and physical therapy along with all other staff members To be more specific :Nursing, Nurses and Personal Care Aides: Day Nurse Riley(CNA), Med Nurse Meiklin, Ariana, Personal Care Aide, Dorine, Tammy, Nursing Per Diem Nurse, Donna, Day Nurse, Rachel Nurse MaeganAlex, Personal Care Aide, Shelly Personal Care Aide, Danielle, PM supervisor, Eve, personal care aide and many more. The physical care group-working in a dedicated, kind manner, helping her to strengthen her muscles, tendons and ligaments-Robert helped her to climb stairs preparing her for her home entrance that has two steps at the front door. Sandy and Gary, so dedicated- Physical Therapy in her room, private and intensive and then onward to the "gym". Work as well as socialization meeting residents Maria, George, Bill and Jeffrey to name a few. I attended programs in the activities department. 1. Sing-a-long Staff Julie and many others 2. Painting with Jim. She took home her London art book with magic painting. Jim showed her how to dip paint brush in water and paint. Great for her finger dexterity. The housekeeping staff of Ethan and Todd among others kept her room clean-wet mopping floor, wiping dresser, bed tables, tray and windowsills-cleaning thoroughly in toilet, shower, sink, changing toilet paper and paper towels. Ethan even helped putting foot rests on my wheelchair(certainly not a housekeeping function) so her feet could be elevated. Maintenance Mike came to my room to fix the closet and while there adjusted the temperature. He also helped adjust a sensitive alarm that was attached to both the bed and wheelchair. Kitty, Director of Social Services helped me during my entire stay. She spent two hours explaining patient rights which she reinforced in writing. She also worked with physical therapist Sandy and nurse Tammy developing a personal care plan. Andrew did a mental evaluation that was very helpful. I had the misfortune of breaking my hip, fortunately for me i was sent to Delaware Valley. Everyone was amazing. I felt like I couldnt ask for more from PT, they were the sunshine of my day. The CNAs were fabulous, I am fully cognitive so I understood when i had to wait, i could see how busy they are. I didnt have a lot to do with the nursing other than meds, but they too went above and beyond. The only thing if i had to look is the food, it leaves a lot to be desired. I was fortunate that my visitors brought me food. That was the most minor issue for me. The care, which is what i was there for, they were amazing.

My husband spent 3 months between the hospital and this rehab. The PT people were great. The Social Worker was awesome. The Admissions Director was very helpful. The core service of this place, the nursing and doctor were HORRIBLE. They deserve a zero star review. I had to pull my husband out to take him to the ER 3 times. The first time he needed emergency surgery, he was in the ICU and spent over a week in the hospital. The doctor, didnt think there was anything wrong. The second time I had to pull my husband out, he had been swelling up for an entire month and although the medical staff knew of his complicated medical situations, they chose to NOT send him to the hospital. I took him to the ER and he spent a week in the hospital. Doctors were VERY concerned. The rehab doctor, not so much. To this day the rehab doctor thinks she did nothing wrong. The third time they let him have a nose bleed for 12 hours although he's on blood thinners. They blamed him for picking his nose and made him feel so small and inadequate. I took him to the ER and they had to cauterize because it wouldn't have stopped on his own. They kept badgering him because he wouldnt keep the nose plugs in even though he told them repeatedly he felt he was swallowing blood. By the time I got him to the hospital, he was sick to his stomach from the amount of blood he had swallowed. The "head" nurse on duty mocked me for wanting him to go to the hospital for a nose bleed. We had "fill in" "head" nurses that would tell you they were just filling in so they didnt know anything. This was on weekends with no admin staff around. My husband complained about the high carb diet because he's a diabetic and the kitchen staff once fed him a hamburger patty for dinner. Nothing else. Another time they gave him a small salad and when he asked for more, he was told there was no more food. We had to bring him food to make sure he had some. My husband suffers from constipation and they would wait 3 days before starting a protocol that didnt work. I spoke to admin about these matters and they would always apologize and say things would change but it was all the same. My husband is cognizant. He has no mental issues and still he suffered. THIS IS A HORRIBLE PLACE. They should be shut down or inspected and nursing credentials as well as medical credentials should be verified. This is rural Pennsylvania but there is NO EXCUSE for being careless and putting people's lives in danger. My husband chose to go back to this rehab because the PT staff did a really good job helping him gain some of his mobility back. Everything else we had to watch out for because they were so bad!

I had to go 3 times a week to shower my husband because skilled nurses and aids didn't know how to do it with a neck brace on. They also " forgot" to tell me I had to switch to community Medicaid, he had duel medicare and Medicaid, so now I'm paying a bill. The apologized, but how do you miss that? I wish I had kept him home and just had therapist come to the house. Only 1 hour a day therapy anyway. He passed a month later, but boy they want their money. I wouldn't recommend for short term rehab.

The staff here are very cold, callous, and uncaring. One of my family members was admitted here for rehab after a short term hospital stay. Upon admission he was able to walk short distances with assistance. Within two weeks he had declined so significantly he was a lift in and out of bed and was so disoriented he didn’t recognize his own family. Multiple times we tried to communicate with the staff that something was seriously wrong, and each time we were dismissed. It came to the point where we as a family had to sign our family member out ourselves to seek appropriate care. This resulted in a week long hospitalization to treat multiple infections and abnormal labs that the staff at Delaware Valley failed to recognize. I wouldn’t send an enemy here let alone a loved one. If you do have a loved one here be prepared to fight tooth and nail for proper care, as every concern you raise will be dismissed every step of the way. These people simply do not care, all they want is Medicare reimbursement, if that comes at the expense of your loved ones health they don’t mind.
