The security guards here are very unprofessional. Whenever I come visit my mom and dad at the east building in the evenings, the person at the desk is very rude and is usually preoccupied with eating and/or talking on their cell phone and acts as if my presence is inconveniencing them. I spoke with my parents about this and they have had similar interactions and said it's an open secret that most of the recently hired guards are incompetent and poorly trained and were only hired because they are all friends of the new supervisor and worked with him previously as mall cops and bouncers. So before you send your parents here, just know this is the quality of people they will have "securing" them.

If you want your loved ones to decline at an alarming rate, send them to St. Camillus. From the majority of the CNAs all the way up to department directors in nursing and therapy, the level of neglect my grandma experienced was horrifying. My grandma was admitted to St. Camillus for their “rehab” program with the goal of regaining her strength. Just three weeks later, she left in an ambulance. Her doctor later informed us that after five days of barely getting out of bed, hardly eating or drinking, extreme lethargy, and visibly looking sunken and weak combined with the fact that St. Camillus had only done labs once during her initial intake she needed to be sent to the ER immediately. A nurse was asked to call an ambulance. Forty-five minutes after my ask asked the nurse, I called St. Camillus to confirm they had actually called 911. They hadn’t. I asked if they needed me to do it myself, and the nurse responded, “Yes, can you do us that favor?” I hung up and called 911 myself. While I was on the phone from my car, my aunt was in the room with my grandma. At that same time, the head nurse walked in and questioned my grandma, who was barely responsive, about why she “needed” to go to the emergency room. She was ultimately transferred to Froedtert, and less than a week later, she passed away from complications. If the CNAs had done more than walk into her room just to silence her call light and falsely promise to come back… if OT and PT had actually done their jobs… if the nurses had acted within the scope of what they are licensed to do… if the doctors had properly monitored her condition and ordered labs… my grandma might not have deteriorated so rapidly and might still be here today. This place is a death trap. My aunt repeatedly called the Director of Nursing and the social worker, leaving multiple messages for both. Neither of them returned a single call until the day my grandma was admitted to Froedtert. Ironically, within hours of her hospital admission, they suddenly called to ask if we wanted to “hold” her room. Which would have cost $485 per day out of pocket because insurance was now covering her hospital stay instead. I’m convinced that if we had paid to hold that room, it would have received more attention in her absence than my grandma did during her entire stay there. Please think carefully before trusting this facility with someone you love.

I've had many excellent experiences here, but one extra benefit that has been a big boon for me over the past 4-5 months has been the opportunity to rent guest apartments when friends and family are coming from a distance. That was especially appreciated when we had people coming from Arizona in January on what turned out to be the coldest weekend of the winter. That guests didn't need to go outside to get together was greatly appreciated by one & all. I rented both a one bedroom and a two bedroom/two bath apartment, both with full kitchen, LR, dining area, and completely furnished, including linens, dishes, etc. This particular visit enabled family & friends to participate in my husband's Celebration of Life, also held at St. Camillus, with less stress and more joy in getting together.

Do not put your family members here.7 The establishment is nice but the administration and management are horrible. The turn over in caregivers are very high and the staff that are there work short due to shortage of caregivers. New Administration hired her own nurse friends that do not help the staff. When short staffed they do not care if it is just one person on the unit they won’t help.residents have waited more than 3 hours at times to get help to bathroom . Management and nurses walk around like they don’t want to be there and will barely say good morning. The residents receive poor care because the staff are always working short especially on the weekends when management is at home and can’t be reached. This place should be shut down they barely have a nurse in the building after 2:30 pm. My sister asked to see a nurse for 4 days before one actually came upstairs to see her . Communication is very POOR!

BE AWARE-My mother was a resident at St. Camillus. She was one of the first residents in the East Residence and then spent a few months in their memory care. It was an absolute horrible experience. They will sell you on the continuum of care under the guise of a religious organization. Independent, assisted, and memory care. There is absolutely NO accountability for them to provide any services. Once they have your loved one's deposit, that is all they care about. Do the research and look at their census and turn over ratio. Management and leadership is a joke. Anyone who is on their board should be ashamed to be associated with this place.
